Hadrian's Cycleway in Northumberland

Tour Hadrian's Cycleway
Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage corridor is the ‘hook’ for the Hadrian’s Cycleway route which winds its way through England for 174 miles. Northumberland holds 33 miles of it, dipping into the iconic, central sections of the Wall at every opportunity.

Handlebars, helmets and history

The hilly, middle section of Hadrian’s Cycleway visits some of the most astounding sections of Hadrian’s Wall, passing numerous ‘doorways’ into Roman history. West to east is usually wind assisted and, once the River Tyne is reached, the final section to the North Sea is entirely flat.
