Multi-award winning Battlesteads is renowned for its superb food, warm and welcoming hospitality and outstanding green credentials. Friendly and family run, the stone-built pub, hotel and restaurant has 22 en-suite bedrooms, including four ground floor rooms with disabled access.
Originally built as a farmstead in 1747, Battlesteads features a cosy open fire, sunny beer garden and conservatory. The food is excellent, whether dining A La Carte in the restaurant or from the local and seasonal menu, and there are several vegetarian options. Battlesteads uses only fresh, local produce, much of it grown on site. The bar offers a great choice of organic, Fairtrade and biodynamic wines plus four cask ales, including two from local micro-breweries.
Battlesteads is situated in the quiet village of Wark within 100yds of the River North Tyne and is ideally placed for exploring Hadrian’s Wall, Kielder and Border Reiver country, whether by car, cycle or on foot.
There is ample parking on site and secure storage for cycles. Packed lunches can be provided.
