A vibrant and friendly community

At the foot of Northumberland’s Cheviot Hills lies the vibrant and friendly community of Powburn. Close to Northumberland National Park and the unspoilt Breamish Valley, this village is nothing short of beautiful.

There are events held at Breamish Hall, from Cumberland wrestling and terrier racing, to sheep classes and pony sports. There will always be something in Powburn to keep you entertained.

Explore the Devil’s Causeway, an ancient Roman road thought to pre-date Hadrian’s Wall. This causeway slices through Powburn during the 55-mile march from Corbridge to Berwick-upon-Tweed.

If you enjoy walking, you could visit the hidden gem paradise that is Branton Lakes Nature Reserve. This is a nature conservation site full of diverse habitats, plants, birds, and an abundance of other wildlife.

Ingram and Breamish Valley

The picturesque, stone-built hamlet of Ingram is nestled away in the sweeping Breamish Valley. Home to ancient hill forts, Bronze Age settlements, fauna-covered moorland and rushing waterfalls, you can hike, cycle, picnic and explore in this vast valley.
