Falstone (which means speckled stone) is one of Northumberland’s hidden gems, surrounded by the enchanted woodlands of Kielder Water and Forest Park - somewhere for you to escape to and immerse yourself in.
The Stell is an architectural installation located near the village of Falstone and deep within the very heart of the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park.
Take a family stroll around the Riverside Path, and look out for the mysterious 18th-century gravestone of a girl holding hands with a skeleton in the churchyard. The history of this rare find is unknown, but it is thought to be one-of-a-kind.
While in Falstone, be sure to visit their annual Shepherd’s Show event. It is a celebration of traditional rural life, and involves its visitors with the community by putting on sheepdog trails, agricultural classes, and local food and crafts.
