Heron Cottage is a beautiful period cottage set in the heart of Embleton village, walking distance from a number of great pubs and The Village Farm Shop. Presented in complimentary tasteful style, its three bedrooms accommodate 4 - 5 people.
The ground floor has a sitting room with multi-fuel stove and SMART TV. This takes you to an expansive open plan kitchen/dining/further sitting room with another SMART TV, leading out through the back door onto a patio area with garden table and chairs and then a step up to the lawn. Downstairs, there is also a full bathroom, with separate shower, perfect for de-sanding after a day on the beach and a small utility room.
Upstairs, using the contemporary glass and oak staircase, there is a large master bedroom with a king size bed and plenty of storage options. The second bedroom has a double bed, so could sleep 2, but for additional storage, use the third single bedroom, with a built in single bed and storage. The single bed is a full size single, so can sleep an adult. A second shower room, completes the offer upstairs.
Embleton village itself is steeped in history (it has a Norman church) but is perhaps best known for the beach. Embleton Bay is a ½ mile away, through the village, down the hill and across a links golf course and through the dunes. Voted best beach in the Country by both Countryfile viewers and Mumsnet, the golden sands stretch for miles as part of England’s Coastal Path. The iconic Dunstanburgh Castle rises up from the cliffs at one end above the dunes and it’s not hard to see why this location is designated an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The cottage is perfect for beach lovers, nature and bird watchers, golfers, walkers and experienced paddle boarders and surfers.
