HISTORY
Built by the first Earl of Tankerville in the 1700’s, the hotel was originally designed to accommodate ‘spare’ guests from Chillingham Castle. The inns location between London and Edinburgh meant it became a posting house before the opening of the rail line.

The historic stone built town of Wooler is nestled at the foothills of the Cheviot Hills and set within the beautiful Northumberland National Park.
