Thursday 10 October 2024 | 12.30pm - 1.30pm | The Alnwick Garden
Experience the wonderfui Buxtehude Jugend-Sinfonieorchester at The Alnwick Garden.
The Buxtehude Youth Symphony Orchestra was founded at the Halepaghen School just over 30 years ago. The orchestra consists of schoolchildren, students and young professionals from Buxtehude and the surrounding area.
As a result, what was initially a small orchestra on the outskirts of the city of Hamburg, which has a population of one million, has quickly grown into a fully developed symphony orchestra.
It has quickly become an institution in the region's cultural life. This success is primarily due to its founding conductor, the pianist and pedagogue Christian Klett he led it for 27 years. His successor, Andreas Désor, teacher and oboist, is continuing this tradition and at the same time setting new accents. He will be conducting the orchestra duirng this concert, too.
Creating a harmony between young people that goes far beyond music is one of the tasks of a youth orchestra and its conductors. The concerts, the intensive rehearsals and rehearsal weekends that precede them, and the orchestra's numerous concert tours, to date to other European countries and to North and South America, contribute significantly to this.
This performance is open to all visiting The Alwnick Garden on 10 October 2024!
