Please enter a long description to be displayed on the listing page
With King Oswald on the throne of Bebbanburg and Aiden preaching Christianity across Northumberland, Wulfthryth and Saethryth are surviving the 7th century as only they can.
Wulfthryth, once Lady in Waiting to Queen Ethelberga of Kent and skilled in healing, considers herself a little higher up the social ladder than her good friend, Saethryth, who is doing all she can to mix with the nobles and change her diet from cabbage soup to venison.
Join Wulfthryth and Saethryth at Bamburgh Castle (follow signs from our gift shop at the end of your State Room tour) to learn about crafts using wool such as nalbinding and embroidery.
Children can have a go at making a lucet braid, leather stamping or weaving and take their finished item.

Learn how weapons were used in battle with Wulfthryth who used to be a warrior before she married and became a lady!
