Acle Re-enactment Society will be at Bebbanburg with displays throughout the summer, bringing our rich Anglo-Saxon history to life, on selected weekends.
One of Bamburgh’s most popular and unmissable annual events! Included in your admission ticket to Bamburgh Castle.
Acle Re-enactments will be situated in the West Ward of the castle grounds from 10am - 3pm and are on the following dates:
King Oswald in Residence at Bebbanburg – Saturday 4th - Monday 6th May
Meet the king, if you’re lucky he might even let you sit on the throne!
Lots of hands-on activities for children and adults alike! With demonstrations of cooking, weaving, embroidery, leechcraft and medicine, interactive games, and much more!
The Vikings are Coming! – Saturday 25th - Monday 27th May
Don’t miss Acle’s displays of combat, craft and living history skills, as they fend off the vicious Vikings who are attacking and raiding their village.
Litha at Bebbanburg – Saturday 22nd - Sunday 23rd June
It’s Litha at Bebbanburg, and that means it’s the middle of the summer! Join Acle Society for Feast Day. They will be busy preparing food and ale, celebrating with games and stories and folk tales of Beowulf from days gone by, the warriors will be competing against each other, and the fires will be lit for Litha.
Queen Bebba in Residence at Bebbanburg – Saturday 27th - Sunday 28th July
Bebbanburg village is bustling in preparation for a royal visit by Queen Bebba. There will be village celebrations, feasting, displays of combat, storytelling, and games. You might even get to meet the queen herself.
The Vikings are Coming! – Saturday 17th - Sunday 18th August
Displays of combat, craft and living history skills, Acle Re-enactment Society take on the Viking hoards once again.
