Wednesday 4 December | 10am - 3pm | Ellingham Hall
Everyone is invited to a very special festive artisan fair at Ellingham Hall, at Ellingham Village near Chathill in Northumberland on Wednesday, December 4.
Organised by Northumberland-based arts' organisation The Tin Shed, the event will feature will showcase the work of around 20 local artists and makers. All the work will be for sale and it will range from original art and prints, to ceramics, textiles, fibre art, jewellery, millinery, leather work and much more.
The hall, which is a popular private wedding venue, rarely opens its doors to the general public, so this is a great opportunity to visit and enjoy some of its grand rooms.
The artists and makers will show their work in the historic Old Chapel and Ceremony Room, which are both on the ground floor. There will also be a small exhibition of larger individual art works in the mezzanine area, above the chapel.
The hall's own chef will be serving up festive bakes and refreshments in the central bar area and visitors can enjoy them in the comfort of two stunning lounges, which adjoin the ground floor rooms.
The hall will be suitably decked out in festive decorations and the fires will be lit, providing a cosy space to contemplate the artwork and any potential purchases.
Everything has been hand-crafted and created by the local artists and makers, who are all small, independent businesses. There will be something for most tastes and budgets.
Entry to the event is free. Doors open 10am and close at 3pm. Parking is through the gates in the grounds next to the hall. There is disabled access via a separate ramp and entrance.
Visitors can also enjoy the gardens and outdoor seating areas (weather permitting).
