Quiet retreat on working farm

850steve, Queenstown, New Zealand
I chose this B&B on the basis it was handy for Hadrian's Wall and forts, and was very pleasantly surprised. Its a working farm, a couple of miles away from the historic small town of Haltwhistle. Despite being in the thick of the lambing season the owner was very welcoming, and showed me to a clean spacious and well-equiped room. Breakfast in the morning was excellent, with plenty of choice and fresh produce.

High quality, welcoming B & B

Two night stay in the Chesters room. A comfortable, high quality B & B on a working farm in the middle of beautiful countryside about half a mile off the Pennine Way. We were immediately made to feel at home by Lesley & Katie who run the B & B to exceptional standards. Despite this being a very busy time on the farm (lambing) Lesley spent time making sure we knew where all the facilities were and had all the information we needed on the local area, walks, places to eat etc. There is a wealth of information leaflets and books to borrow. The room with ensuite shower room was comfortable, we slept well. There was an additional bathroom where you are welcome to take a bath- ample hot water. The Shepherds Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Guests were welcome to view the new born lambs. We had a superb stay and will return In the future.

Lovely B&B

Really lovely place, bed so comfy. Room spotless, warm & cosy. Area peaceful and beautiful countryside. Good breakfast. Lesley was such a lovely host. Cannot fault this place. Would definitely stay again.

Hidden Gem in the Country

We stayed for one night in the B&B in the Carvoran room. A very comfortable, clean and well equipped room with ensuite. We had a king size bed, TV, hair dryer, mini fridge, and tea & coffee making facilities. The bathroom was very nice, very clean with a lovely shower. We was greeted on arrival by Katie, a lovely lady who showed us to our room, round the B&B and told us of the local places to eat. She was very helpful. In the morning we had one of the nicest breakfasts we have had, with a vast choice of fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, toast, jams, spreads and a cooked breakfast made exactly how you like it! It was spot on!! The B&B is a little out of the way from the hustle and bustle of busy life and the shops and pubs are a good 10 minute drive away but if a chill out and relaxing time is what you want, this is a definite and we would 100% recommend it. We will be going back in the spring/summer with the kids as they have a little play area and you can look round the farm at the animals. The family that run through B&B are very nice and very helpful and make you feel welcome.

One night stay

Me and my husband stayed at Kellah Farm on the way home from a break in Scotland. We were made very welcome from the moment we got there. We were shown around, explained where the nearest and best places were to eat and shown to our room. We were pleasantly surprised with the size of the room and how lovely the ensuite was. Everywhere was clean, the bed was comfy and the views were brilliant. The next morning we were treated to a wonderful breakfast which was just perfect! There was so much choice and cooked breakfast was one of the best! We will definitely return for a longer period to discover the local sights as well! We would recommend it to everyone!
