Good stay camping

Lynne W, Doncaster, United Kingdom
On the whole this is a very nice site, the camping field has great views of the sea and Farne Islands if you are lucky enough to be on pitchs 7 - 9. Can be rather windy though. The showers are brilliant and free with free hair dryer. Depending where you are the wifi connection isn't very good. On the whole an enjoyable stay.

Good Stay But Some Observations and Possible Suggestions

ChunkyMonkey69, East Anglia
Thanks for a good 2 weeks stay camping with electric hook up. June 2017. Overall a good stay. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Great location near outside Seahouses which takes about 30mins to walk to the quayside down the country lane. The site: Its public so in the normal way you will get other visitors which could show a little more respect which the site cannot be directly responsible for. All of the site roads and paths are grey stones which can throw up dark dust as the speed limit is set to 10mph which could be lowered to 5 for greater safety and less dust. There are no speed humps which would also slow cars down. We noticed our cooker top was covered in the dust. The site is very dog friendly. I love dogs. As a possible improvement they could be an alternative route to take dogs to the dog area or even have the dog area elsewhere. The site is part of a working farm which means tractors and farm traffic can be close by so this can mean some noise. Sometimes the farm traffic passed though the site itself, maybe an alternative route for the traffic could be more considerate for visitors. Pitches: Spacious. Tree branches were close on some pitches. Our grass pitch was busy as the grass had not had a chance to grow and was bare damp flat earth when we arrived and we could not reposition due to the area covered. The shower/toilet/washing block: Has steep steps up although there is a optional slope route. There is a shared freezer, fridge, power sockets, washing machine, drier, a radio which is on as well. Mens: The 3 men's showers are cosy. The shower heads are in a fixed position. The rooms lights will go out if no one is in there after some time except for the shower furthest to the right near the main door. All doors seem to be kept open except for the 2 loo doors which like to be kept shut so you have to keep knocking and trying the doors as they have no visible engaged sign on the outside of the doors. They have a 'Lookout' above which caters for groups which can be heard stomping about from the loos. Everything else was ok. They show new arrivals pitch locations in the whiteboard so you can see who is coming and going. The general information signs in the loos spell 'quiet' incorrectly. Thanks for the stay.

Lovely friendly site.

Bluelupis, Beadnell, United Kingdom
Springhill is a lovely friendly site. It is very peaceful and has amazing views , Cheviot hills to the west, Bamburgh castle to the north and Farne islands to the east. It's very well run and maintained. Shower block/toilets are kept very clean and there is always hot water. The pitches are very spacious and welll laid out . The staff are very friendly and efficient, nothing is to much trouble. Thoroughly recommend this site.

Caravan holiday

Guyza62,
We have just returned home from a fabulous week at Spinghill Farm in our touring caravan. The site is great, the staff friendly, the views fantastic and the location ideal. We really didn't want to leave and hope to return. Unfortunately at 225 miles we can't do weekends, otherwise they would never be rid of us.

Good location

juless01, Wigan, United Kingdom
We booked 2 nights in the wigwams but only stayed for 1 due to not being able to sleep very well, dogs barking in the middle of the night and early morning, we were close to the path to the shower/toilet/kitchen block and people walking past on the gravel was noisy as well. The actual camp though was nice, the accomodation was clean and the facilities were good.
