Excellent Fishing Venue

StevieBoyd65, Paisley, United Kingdom
Stayed at Leaplish 5th-12th May 2017. This was our 2nd visits to Kielder and once again we found it to faultless. We stayed in lodge 15 (Cheviot Superior) which sat at the top of the hill with partial view of the loch sorry Lake! We found it ideal for our requirements as there were 5 anglers in total. Lodge was very comfortable and spotless. Staff on site were friendly and very helpful. We fished for four days (£10 per day, 8 fish limit) and every day we caught. There plenty of other outdoor activities although we only fished. There is a lovely bar and restaurant on site along with a small shop which seemed to carry most essential items. Would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys fishing in beautiful surroundings. Will be back next year for more of the same. Thanks to everyone at Leaplish

Lovely lodge in a tranquil setting

Miis1973, Llandudno, United Kingdom
We stayed at Kielder Lodge over the Easter Weekend. It is beautifully decorated with amazing views over the valley in a lovely and quiet location. The Lodge has all the facilities that you need to enjoy your stay including a beautiful hot tub which we braved in the cold! However, once you get in it's like a hot bath. The local pub is at the end of the driveway serving great meals and reasonably priced too. Also, there is a village shop for some of your essentials. This is definitely somewhere to say if you enjoy peace and quiet with beautiful scenery. We'll definitely be back.

Tranquility with a splash of luxury surrounded by beautiful views

Lisa Jane M, Durham
I had the pleasure of staying in the stunning Aurora lodge at Kielder Waterside over Easter with five friends and what an amazing break it was! This lodge is in an enviable position right on the reservoir with beautiful views over the water with a lush green background. Waking up to this view made you want to get up early on a morning and I am not usually an early riser. The lodge has everything you need to enjoy your time at Kielder so you don't need to worry about bringing the kitchen sink with you. The lodge is finished to a very high standard with modern decor, furnishings and technology including Bose music systems inside and even on the swim spa. The lodge sleeps six very comfortably with two double and one twin room, one double is en-suite. Storage space is fantastic and would be more than adequate if you stayed for a week. With the Aurora you have the added extras of a BBQ hut and stargazing pod leaving you spoilt for choice. The BBQ is a really great area to socialise. The BBQ lit very easily and it comfortably seats six people. The stargazing pod was terrific on the second night as it was so clear and the skies certainly lived up to their darkest sky accolade. It was an amazing blanket of stars that I could have looked at all night, and really wouldn't have minded sleeping in the pod on the beanbags provided. The swim spa is a real treat and so spacious compared to your average hot tub. Again this is an area to enjoy during the day or night. The lodge was so warm, we didn't really need heating at all. The beds are extremely comfy, pillows were puffed up and squashy, and the bed linen was very good quality. The dining area is so nice with amazing views and the kitchen has all mod cons including washer, dishwasher and most importantly for us six ladies a selection of wine glasses for indoor and out. No one wants to drink champagne or prosecco from a tumbler! The main bathroom has a TV screen and the most fragrant toiletries. We brought food etc with us to keep us going during our stay but we did have a drink in the Boat Inn, which was very quiet on the Friday evening and we returned for a fantastic, and tasty Sunday lunch. Even if you don't stay over, the Sunday lunch would be worth the visit alone. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating, and worked extremely hard as the lunchtime rush came. There are lots of activities available too for those who want more than a relaxing break but we were simply there it relax and enjoy each other's company. The shop on site has a lot of lovely gifts and a decent selection of staple food items should you run out. The only one observation, which certainly didn't impact on our stay was when you exited the swim spa and came in to the lodge you did drip across the floor, and it's a wood floor so could be slippery. I am lucky to be returning with my family next month although staying in a different lodge without the BBQ hut and stargazing pod but looking forward to this already.

Excellent lodges

Lara S,
We have just returned from a weekend stay in a Hareshaw superior lodge. The lodge was well equipped, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The lodge had great views and was very peaceful. We are a family with young children (8 and 5) and we found lots to do and explore. We tried archery with the Go active club and thoroughly enjoyed it. The swimming pool is great too.

Quiet winter getaway

barbedwire1, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom
We stayed in the Hadrian lodge which has a partial view of the lake, it was November when we stayed, so it was very quiet, which was perfect. Yes it does get cold at night but there are blankets and heating provided, you can sit on the veranda at night and have an amazing view of the night sky as there is no light pollution out here. Obviously you have to provide your own food, there is a co-op in Bellingham to stock up on supplies, which is about 25mins away and a great pub to get a really good Sunday lunch across the road from the supermarket. The lodge has everything you could need, just bring yourselves, food and a car!
