Able to seat from 40 to 300 guests, the choice of rooms will satisfy all your needs. One of two biggest suites the Cheviot Suite has its own foyer area and bar and the Ridley Suite also features its own bar and benefits from natural daylight. Nice rooms and people. AWFUL food

Just stayed here for 3 nights. The online booking was good and the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was also nice and the beds comfortable. The only issue we had with the room was we went out at 8am and left the Please Clean My Room sign out. When we returned at 2pm the room had still not been cleaned. I asked why and was told they prioritise those who are leaving and if they had known we wanted it cleaned they would have done quicker. i said there was a sign outside from 8am and they had no answer as to why it had not been done. The worst aspect was the food. We had a family dinner there on the first night and every course for every person except one was average or poor. The worst aspect was that everything, from the meat to the veg was so overcooked. The meat was dry and chewy. In hindsight we should have complained and now wished we had following the experiences the next few days. Breakfast, which was £15 per room, was inedible. Overcooked was again the theme. Plus how long all these items were left out for. Eggs like bullets and bacon like cardboard. Orange juice was like water. Coffee machine dispensed poor quality coffee. We complained the first morning and the next day nothing had changed. It was just as bad. The staff said they were waiting for others to "fix" the beverage issues!! The third morning things had improved and the food and drink were better and passable. We were offered a refund for the first 2 days. I asked for an Ops Manager to call me after 2.30pm on Tuesday. They did and left a message that they would call back as i could not answer as i was delayed on the Motorway. I have still not had that call back. Bar service was also good. It is such a shame that we traveled up for a family event and it was spoiled by the food at this hotel. We had to go elsewhere for breakfast the first 2 mornings.

stayed here for a weekend trip to newcastle

we stayed here in feb 2010 this hotel is just what you would exspect a Holiday Inn to be Staff and facilities were nice. Its a bit of a distance from newcastle its self but its nice and clean hotel Only complaint was the shouting of customer coming back i late at night to early hrs of the mornings

I would like to say a huge thank you to the young girl that was working today in the hotel lounge. I stopped by to meet some friends from cramlington for some lunch. Being heavily pregnant I started to feel a bit unwell. The young girl, sorry I didn't catch her name, went out her way to make sure I was ok and comfortable. My friends had left and she sat with me and managed to get in touch with my husband to come and pick me up and make sure I got home safely.She was absolutely brilliant please give her a massive thank you from me. Good hotel shame about the restaurant

Stayed here a lot over the last 2 years. The latest visit though the restaurant was a let down. There are posters around the hotel advertising it & they say last food orders 9.30pm We booked for 8.30 & got there 5 mins late, the very abrupt lady on the desk told us we had 5 minutes to order as it was last orders! I pointed to the poster behind her that said 9.30pm but she said thats old & things have changed. Indeed they have - the menu has changed & is very poor compared to the old offering. Will be dining elsewhere in future

Near Gosforth!

This is a good standard Holiday Inn. Staff and facilities were nice. It is a bit north of Gosforth. Only complaint is about the odd device they use for breakfast fruit juice: this is the worst orange juice I have ever tasted!
