Great weekend!

Vanessa W,
Nine mums having a well-earned get together in lovely accommodation in a great location. We stayed I'm the Coach House and had the luxury of a hot tub that was well used. Great space inside with the open plan kitchen and dining room and a snuggly lounge too. There were a few issues with bits and pieces but Jim the owner came to sort them out as swiftly as possible. Have already booked for next year as it more than suits our needs. If the accommodation can be kept to the standard it is currently in, we may well have to look no further for our annual get-together!

Fab stay

We’ve just returned from a nights stay and we can’t wait to return !! Had the best time with our friends and we all agree our kids would love it . We stayed in the kingfisher and we were Blown away by the cottage . Absolutely beautiful. With such little quirky features . The hot tub was amazing (even though we didn’t use it till late ) and the sauna . Gutted we didn’t find the bbq hut till this morning but we’ll put it to good use next time . Jim is a true star always in hand whatever the time . Absolute jem of a place

We stayed in the Gillies Cottage for 7 nights between 2 and 9 September 2017. I have never been so disappointed with the so called 'LUXURY' accommodation in all of the years I have used self-catering cottages. How Lambley Farm has managed to maintain its 4* status with th English Tourist Council is beyond comprehension. The were so many things wrong that it all added up to a rather disappointing stay. Saucepans with the handles hanging off, metal baking tray that needed a good scrub, a carpet in the living area that was covered in fluff and grime (I left it a lot cleaner than the cleaners left it for me!), No instructions for any of the appliances, a fridge door minus the shelves, a toilet seat very badly fitted - neither on nor off, the flooring was so noisy that you woke others up if you got up in the night, not even a jug to put your milk in or to use as a measure! I could go on but I think I have made my point. I will never darken the Gillies doorstep again and I don't recommend anyone else does either

Lambley Farm Cottages replied: Oh Dear Anne Just picked up your review & now just 2 hours later let me reply .I have just inspected the cottage with the current Lady occupant incidentally a repeat guest,we found the following to be true ,loo seat was " cocked eyed " but not loose I adjusted it in seconds, all saucepans handles were found to be tight admittedly 1 had been tightened by the current guest with the utterance don't handles come a bit loose with the heat what a Hero .Fridge shelf has been ordered off Amazon we won'the be so mean to bill the culprit as things do occasionally break or chip .Full set of trays & measuring jug already replaced. For the record we have sailed through our 4☆Tourist Board rating for the last 15 years not least because we react quickly & positively as soon as issues are brought to our attention Kindest Regards Jim

Stayed at Lambley last weekend and had a great stay! Jim the owner was really helpful both prior to and during our stay... recommending places to eat (and not eat!) and helping us organise horse riding locally.... 11 of us stayed in total (6 adults and 5 kids) and everyone loved the cottage..... the kids loved the toys / karts / trampoline in the garden and the adults loved the huge kitchen diner which was our focal point each evening.... The beds were comfy and clean and with 5 en-suites we had no cause for complaint... a brilliant time was had by all....! Sure..... It wasn't 5* as there were things that could be tidier, cleaner and just better looked after but Lambley is a huge site with a lot of maintenance requirements and if we had a real problem the owner dealt with it as soon as we mentioned it to him. Yes... the kids garden was messy and some of the toys old and battered..... the kids didn't care! Yes... the wood chip area with chairs and table by the hot tub was a bit of an eyesore.... its ok we didn't use them we used the huge table provided instead. My point would be that if I wanted to pick holes in EVERYTHING (and some reviewers clearly do) then I probably could.... however, I didn't pay a 5* price and therefore I didn't expect a 5* location or service! Lambley is lovely... great river walks, a hospitable host and a huge house with more utensils / pots / pans than you could ever need. If you are unsure... book it. You'll have a great time.

A fabulous getaway

I don't usually leave reviews but have to say that my family of 5 just spent a wonderful week in Shalom Cottage. The Cottage itself is charming, it felt homely, very comfortable and was adequately equipped for my family. Set in awesome landscape it is an amazing place for exploring - even my teens spent more time outside than in and my youngest loved the play area. We would definitely book again.
