Quiet winter getaway

barbedwire1, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom
We stayed in the Hadrian lodge which has a partial view of the lake, it was November when we stayed, so it was very quiet, which was perfect. Yes it does get cold at night but there are blankets and heating provided, you can sit on the veranda at night and have an amazing view of the night sky as there is no light pollution out here. Obviously you have to provide your own food, there is a co-op in Bellingham to stock up on supplies, which is about 25mins away and a great pub to get a really good Sunday lunch across the road from the supermarket. The lodge has everything you could need, just bring yourselves, food and a car!

Stayed in the Hadrian Lodge for 3 nights with the family, very comfortable and no issue of going back, fully recommend the accommodation and the Kielder experience. Only 2 snags was toilet was dirty but easily cleaned and bath plug didn't open up much to drain. Beautiful scenery, beautiful Facilities. Top Marks

Beautiful

littleadele, Liverpool, United Kingdom
As a group we stayed here over the New year. We hired 2 lodges, 1 of which had a hot tub. We were given a complimentary hamper in each lodge. The lodges were beautiful, clean and very modern. Cannot fault this site, the views were perfect and the walks around the forest were just amazing. Me and my friends can highly recommend this site, for couples, a group or as a family.

Lovely relaxing break

sarah hayes 1000,
Just returned from a mid week break at Kielder Lodges. We found the site very nice, well maintained and expertly and professionally run. We had 'Hadrian' lodge (14) which had 2 bedrooms, and although was described as basic was very well equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine and a DVD player. The views outside was spectacular. The lodges are very well situated to show these views. The only problem that could arise in our view are the heating in the lodge. They are electric thermostatic controlled. The lodge did drop cold at night. I do recommend you take extra blankets with you. The heating seemed to be on 24 hours a day though which was probably a good thing. The reception and pub staff was exceptional. A really nice experience made better by their hospitality. We can highly recommend the place and will be returning again soon.
