The Garden Apartment is an extension to Fairfield House, a 5 star bed and breakfast guesthouse, and the same high levels of quality have been applied to this open plan studio style apartment. The accommodation has been decorated in a contemporary style, incorporating hardwood flooring and light oak furniture, and comprises twin beds (which can be linked to form a super-king sized bed), a comfortable sitting area with TV & DVD, well equipped kitchenette and wet room style bathroom. Bedding is pure cotton and pillows filled with soft goose down (synthetic pillows available on request).
It has its own decked seating area overlooking the garden. The large terraced garden (shared with B&B residents) is south facing and borders on to fields and woodland - which attracts many wildlife visitors.
Fairfield House is quietly situated on the edge of Warkworth, a picturesque and historic village which forms part of the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. An easy stroll down the hill and over the original 17th century bridge spanning the Coquet River will take you to the centre of the village. Warkworth Castle dominates the village and is well worth a visit. In the village you will find an interesting selection of gift shops and galleries, teashops, pubs and restaurants. There is a lovely walk along the banks of the river and in the summer you can hire a boat to row upstream. There is a beautiful sandy beach, which overlooks the RSPB reserve of Coquet Island, just a pleasant 20 min walk from the house. Warkworth is located seven miles south east of Alnwick (famous for its Castle and the Alnwick Garden) making the Garden Apartment an ideal base from which to explore Northumberland's many attractions … or it can simply be a haven for a restful break.

What a wonderful guesthouse, faultless accommodation in a great location. Our room was very comfortable, kept immaculately clean (daily) and looked down onto the beautiful garden. The breakfasts provide a really great choice of hot and cold food which was very well presented, even the range of drinks available in your room is very good. Nothing was too much trouble and Mandy was always willing to chat and offer advice on things to do. We stayed for a week and couldn't find the slightest thing to complain about!
"It doesn't get any better than this"
My wife and I have been visiting Mandy and her beautiful home for the last 8 years. We are well travelled people and have stayed in many top rated hotels and guest houses throughout the world but Fairfield house is right up there with the best. The comprehensive breakfast is a great way to start the day and the quality of the accommodation is unrivalled. All the rooms are beautiful and Mandy is a most welcoming host who has extremely high standards in the way the property is presented and how she can ensure all guests enjoy their stay to the max. The village of Warkworth is lovely and is only a 10 minute walk away with nice pubs and a restaurant we'd recommend-The Old Post office..you must pre book and it's only open Friday and Saturday. For walkers and lovers of wildlife the whole coastline of Northumberland is fantastic. Book Mandy's superb guest house- you are guaranteed not to be disappointed.
Fabulous B & B
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for two nights in Mandy's beautiful home and to share her lovely garden. Our room was spotless, bright and airy and well supplied with a huge choice of teas and coffees. Fresh bottled water was left in the room each day. First class toiletries in the bathroom. The breakfast was also excellent with lots of choice of cereals, fresh fruit etc The cooked breakfast menu is also extensive with lots of local produce used. Mandy is a delightful welcoming host and we look forward to returning to her B & B.
Great B&B in an excellent location for exploring Nothumberland

This B&B is 5 minutes walk from the pretty town of Warkworth and about 20 mins walk from its excellent beach. The standard of accommodation is very high with beautifully furnished rooms and a lovely garden. The owner pays great attention to detail in an effort to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The breakfasts are fantastic with a great variety of foods on offer and there are cakes available in the afternoon. I cannot recommend it too highly.

We have recently come home after 2 nights at Fairfield House. This was our third visit so that speaks volumes as we are choosy. We stayed in Peony room a lovely double room with a walk in wardrobe and a lovely bathroom which is spacious and spotless. Mandy thinks of everything from comfortable rooms complete with the usual tea and coffee but with huge choice to fluffy towels and bathrobes, bottled water , wine glasses and even a corkscrew if required! Mandy is an excellent cook and her breakfasts are excellent from traditional full English to delicious French toast with berries, strawberries, slices of orange and maple syrup and lots of other tasty choices. If the weather is kind you can sit in the gorgeous garden and watch the bird life . We will need to walk a long way to walk the calories off . Thanks again Mandy we will return next year.
