Perfect B and B accommodation

chrisalison50, London, United Kingdom
We had picked this from a travel guide and found it to be everything we could have asked for as a totally relaxing short break after a strenuous walking tour. Dorothy and Brian were the most welcoming hosts imaginable without being all over us. The room and bathroom were a good size and perfectly comfortable. Breakfast with fresh fruit was all we could want. Like staying with old friends.

Excellent B & B

Peter2572014, Dunblane, United Kingdom
My husband and I stayed in Bilton Barnes on Wednesday 5 October. The B and B could not have been better in any way. The room was well and comfortably furnished, with a window seat from which there was a stunning view across fields to the sea. The en suite, complete with free standing bath and a large walk-in shower, looked newly installed. We were sorry not to have arrived sooner so we could spend time relaxing in the large conservatory. The hot and cold choices for breakfast, would have shamed many a four star hotel. As you might expect from owners who obviously put maximum effort into getting every detail perfect, the welcome was as warm and friendly as you could get anywhere.

A perfect week...

orlandini11, Bishop Auckland, United Kingdom
Stayed for a week (self-catering) in Emma's Cottage, part of a handsomely converted stone building on Bilton Barns farm, from where we motor-toured daily around beautiful, historic Northumberland. This is a place with easy access to the main roads, clean, spacious, tranquil, styled attractively in the vernacular with excellent parking and even a view of the shimmering sea, all discreetly and very professionally managed by the family. A perfect start to October - and all for a reasonable price. Could have stayed for a month. Who needs abroad? Thank you, Dorothy - we'll be coming back.

Excellent

What a delightful hostess! Dorothy was relaxed, friendly and helpful. How she manages everything she does and drives the tractor too, is a mystery to me. We stayed in the beautifully furnished four poster room with a view over the sea. A lovely light and spacious room with a comfortable sofa and plenty of room in the shower for all your products! Breakfasts were delicious and you were not required to order them the night before. Everyone sits around a large table which is very convivial. I would highly recommend this place.

Perfect location for a quiet few days

Outandabout22, United Kingdom
Beautifully located on a working arable farm we found Bilton Barns down a long private track leading to the main farmhouse built in the early 18th Century. We were greeted by Dorothy, shown to our room and then treated to tea and cake. We had the Four poster room with great views over the garden and then beyond to Alnmouth and the sea. The room was well equiipped, very comfortable and spacious - home from home. Guests have their own lounge and sun room. Breakfast was taken round a very large table with all the other friendly and chatty guests. The breakfast menu was excellent and the food served by Dorothy was both fresh and very tasty. We were set up for the day and did not really want to eat until later in the evening. Bilton Barns is well situated for guests arriving by car,on two wheels or even walking (the East Coast mainline station at Alnmouth is only a mile or so away). Alnmouth and Alnwick are close by. We had a lovely couple of days at Bilton Barns. It is a real credit to the hard work of Dorothy and her family and recommend it to all as a great place to stay.
