We have been to JDH on a few occasions and we loved it so much we got married there. We have been back since for food and for our anniversary. JDH never fails! Beautiful place, beautiful setting, amazing food and the staff are professional yet friendly. Would definitely recommend it for dinner, drinks, afternoon tea, a stay or your special wedding! Perfect!
As fine a place that you could find, a secret in the mist.

This is a hidden jem we had the pleasure to find. Superior staff that are really very kind. I recommend the Noble Suite which will not disappoint. The food is excellent and very well presented. Excellent Scotch selection and well appointed in every detail. Beautiful ambiance and the attention to detail abounds. We made our way from the USA here and will visit again and again. Having a nice glass of wine on the roof from the suite is just a small enjoyment here.

we were given a Christmas present of Sunday lunch for 2 The meal was a fixed price £26 pp for 3 courses 2 large Bomba Saphir gins with slimline tonic £26.00. Both of us had the salt beef hash as a starter rather than the soup Main course was 1 roast pork with black pudding Yorkshire pudding mashed potato duck fat roast potato kale mashed squash and 1 beautifully rare roast beef with the same additions the pork was good ,the beef magnificent ,the yorkshires large & light ,the mash smooth and tasty, the roast potatoes excellent vegetables tasty and well cooked Dessert was 1 sticky toffee pudding with caramel sauce which was not too sweet but light with enough sauce & home made vanilla ice cream the other was a chocolate torte with raspberry smooth ice cream We had a bottle of Rioja reserva £ 38 which was a full bodied accompaniment to the strong flavours of all the courses
Jesmond Dene House
Jesmond Dene House is located in a beautiful part of the city, surrounded by trees and nature and the house itself looks really grand as you arrive. We stayed in a standard classic room, which was small but well-appointed and the bathroom was really nice. The bed itself was comfortable but I would have preferred firmer pillows. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast, we made our reservation for a Sunday and didn’t realise that a Sunday menu is in place so the normal menu was not available, this wasn’t something I was aware of so if you’re booking it may be worthwhile keeping this in mind. The Sunday lunch was really nice, good size portions and tasty, likewise, breakfast was good and the service in the restaurant was really good. There were a few things that tarnished my stay here and it really has put me off making any future reservations. Unfortunately, there was still litter in the room from the previous occupants (empty pop bottle), which was a bit of a shame and not something I would have expected from this hotel, we were also without any cold water so had to brush our teeth with warm water and check in was flustered and I didn’t feel particularly welcomed when we arrived. At check-out I did mention the issue with the water and we were compensated for this, which was a welcome gesture. Check-out was worlds apart from the flustered check-in, with a friendly and personable gentleman, who was genuinely sorry for the issue we had with the water. I had greater expectations so I do feel a little bit let down as I don’t think the quality we received necessarily lived up to Jesmond Dene’s usual service standards. Overall the hotel is situated in a lovely area, convenient for trips into Newcastle city centre, lovely views from the room and the restaurant but maybe lacking in the finer details, which would have made for a more pleasant stay.
A day to remember
To give your daughter a perfect wedding day is every mothers wish . I can honestly say that Jesmond Dene House delivered this on 15th December 2016. As one very happy mother of the bride it is right to recognise the attention , advice , support and professionalism that Kate Wilson , wedding and events coordinator gave to my daughter's wedding . I can honestly say that there as nothing that did not come up to our expectations. I have received numerous messages from guests complimenting and raving about the venue, the exquisite cuisine , friendly and helpful staff and the charming master of ceremony. The prompt services of the housekeeper on the morning of the wedding to the apartment suite and for preparing guests rooms early so that they were ready for guests who had travelled a distance, did not go unnoticed. The entire day was perfect and I can truly say that the bride and groom were so thrilled that they choose Jesmond Dene House for their wedding.
