Comfortable rooms with very good restaurant

My father, sister and myself stayed here last Saturday night. Our rooms were comfortable, very clean and well appointed. My own room, no 37 ( I think) was in the annexe and happened to be one that is disabled friendly. I have no idea how suitable it was for a disabled person but it was very spacious and the bathroom had clearly been set up accordingly. However if the other two rooms hadn't been so good, I would only give this hotel four stars because the bathroom was a bit of a mess. It is a "wet room" or that's what I think they are called. The floor is tiled as you would expect but the shower area is not raised up in any way, perhaps because of the disabled requirement and so the floor simply slopes towards the shower head and towards a drain under it. The problem is that the shower itself sprays water far out side of the sloping area and so I completely flooded the bathroom and had to soak the water up with three towels. Not good enough! The restaurant was excellent . My son and his girlfriend joined us for dinner and the food really was very good and the service was professional and friendly.

An Amazing Mother's Day

I decided to treat my mam to afternoon tea for Mother's day, and what an amazing time we had. We were seated in the garden room which had fantastic views of the grounds and was a lot quieter than the main room. There was a very good selection of teas and coffees to choose from and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The food arrive and it was very colourful and appetising. The sandwiches were lovely and soft with a nice selection of fillings. The middle section had 3 mini scones (fruit, plain and cheese) with butter and jam, and the top tier consisted of a deconstructed rhubarb crumble, chocolate cake and a macaron. The tea was very enjoyable and although the venue was very busy, we were not rushed by the staff and we're allowed to enjoy the food at our own leisure. We walked around the grounds after having our afternoon tea and enjoyed the surroundings of Jesmond Dene park. I would definitely recommend a visit and intend on returning to sample other delights.

Birthday celebrations

This gorgeous hotel on the edge of the city was the perfect choice my husband made for my birthday celebrations . Staff were attentive and very engaging . Surroundings were beautiful a truly romantic setting for couples. We chose the tasting menu on Saturday night and all was impeccable . Would highly recommend to friends and I hope to return one day - if I'm lucky .

Lovely location for a lovely wedding. Beautiful historic building with some modernisation but much of its heritage in tact. Food was excellent as were staff. Drinks prices were as you would expect at such a venue. Located a 10 minute drive from the City Centre.

Located in the woods, quiet & peaceful

This is an amazing place overall located near Jesmond Dene park. The rooms are comfy and service is great too. My only suggestion would be to make sure you select the room type carefully and all rooms are not the same. It depends on your taste so ask reception.
