A welcome watering hole after a circumnavigation of Kielder Water

Longframbri, Longframlington, United Kingdom
My son and I visited Kielder in May 2017, basically for me to "try before you buy" an e-bike, hired from The Bike Place in Kielder village. We made the complete trip around the Kielder Water, starting at The Bike Place and taking the trail skirting around Kielder Water in a clockwise direction. By the time we reached Leaplish and sighted The Boat Inn we were ready for a break and some refreshment. The Boat Inn is reasonably well appointed and services not only the travelling visitors, but also the villages of log cabins dotted throughout the surrounding woodland. Although I had never visited before, my son had as a regular Kielder biker and also having stayed in one the log cabins on two occasions. The food was good and and was served up in a reasonable time given the number of people in the place at the time. The views out of the window across the water are wonderful and, although we didn't have time to partake, the outside beer garden sitting area looked a great place to while away some time enjoying the views and some liquid sustenance. Again, we were on a schedule, so it was only a snack this time, but the menu is extensive and has plenty of variety. What we had was great and I would recommend a visit.

Nice views. Friendly staff. Good food and dog friendly. This pub sits next to the lake at Kielder and serves real ale too. Recommend the Sunday roast all at reasonable prices. As mentioned if you have a dog then half the pub if for you. Plenty to do nearby. Nice spot.
