An Enjoyable Stay

templier1, Bradford, United Kingdom
Just spent three very relaxing days at the Twice Brewed Inn. Our room was newly refurbished and very comfortable. Enjoyed some great meals there - they do a great Northumberland full English breakfast, and after you've been out exploring Hadrians Wall all day some brilliant and tasty evening meals. Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room and good beer - the Twice Brewed Inn is highly recommended

Twice Brewed Inn replied: Dear Templier1, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a cracking review of The Twice Brewed and for recommending us to fellow travellers - it is great to hear we are ticking the boxes! We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in future, Best wishes, TB

Great Stay

Ali123157, Great Ayton, United Kingdom
Just returned from Twice Brewed after an excellent stay. Ticks all the boxes, excellent staff, good food and great location. The staff are particularly helpful and a special recommendation to the Manager (Matthew) who went 'the extra mile' to make a stay a comfortable and pleasant one. Will be returning to sample the new brewery.... Alison Suthers

Twice Brewed Inn replied: Dear Ali123157, Many thanks for taking the time to leave such a great review of The Twice Brewed, we are thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and your comments shall be passed on to the Team and Matthew. We look forward so sampling some homebrews with you when you return! Best wishes, TB

The best pub/restaurant on the Hadrian's Wall walk. Three meals, all wonderful!! Try the gammon!!

Tim G, Fairfax, Virginia
We stayed in the area for two nights, and had both dinners and also lunch here. All three meals were great! I was in a group of nine people, and the group went here for dinner both days. All the meals everyone ordered were excellent. I had the gammon--something I'd never had before--and fell in love with it. Scrumptious. Several people tried it the second night and also became fans. Lunch was very sedate, with a great selection of sandwiches, soups, and salads, in addition to heavier fare if you want it. Daily specials, very reasonably priced. By far the best pub/restaurant on the Hadrian's Wall walk.

Twice Brewed Inn replied: Dear Tim G, Wow! Thank you so much for leaving such a glowing review of The Twice Brewed - we are so happy to hear you enjoyed your meals with us and we do have to agree, the gammon is something of a hit! We hope very much to get the chance to welcome you again and perhaps offer you accommodation also, and thank you for both your custom and the review. Best wishes, TB

Slightly disappointing.

col-sheila, geordie land
We have been visiting this pub several times a year for many decades but last year they made major changes. The barmaid was very friendly and welcoming, beer was expensive. Overall they have made better use of the space with a nicer shaped bar and fresh decor. However the bonkets that line the walls are narrow, slope down slightly and not very comfortable. The menu has changed too and has less in the way of light bites. I usually had the hot beef sandwich and chips and it was very tasty and always looked forward to it. This day the hot meat was off the menu and the only other sandwich option was cheese savoury which we'd had the previous day. My husband chose the lamb burger and I had potato skins. Not many skins for £4.95, the chilli sauce was too sweet and very mild but the garlic mayo was lovely. The burger at £9.50 was tasty but very small. We'll give it another go but unless the management increase the choice of lite bites at lunchtime we'll be going elsewhere.

Twice Brewed Inn replied: Dear col-Sheila, Thank you for leaving a review of The Twice Brewed, I am surprised to hear there was not enough of a selection on the "Lite Bites" menu - we offer 4 types of sandwich so I don't understand why there was only one option available and agree, this is not good enough and we are sorry for this. Thank you for the compliment on the garlic mayo - this we do make in house, however the chilli sauce we leave to the experts so it's sweetness and heat are much the same as any main brand. We have taken your comments on board and hope to welcome you again, Best wishes, TB

VERY DISSAPOINTED

margareta123212016, Falkirk, United Kingdom
We holiday at Bardon Mill every year and used to eat in this pub.Last year it was refurbished and we decided to try it out.Service was slow food was not of high quality. The steak pie was the most disgusting we've ever eaten. It had large pieces of jelly like grizzle. My daughter in law thought one large piece was meat and went green when she felt it in her mouth she had to spit it into a napkin and couldn't eat the rest.Mine was the same and I felt ill after swallowing one very large chunk.Terrible wont be back.

Twice Brewed Inn replied: Dear margareta123212016, I am so sorry to hear of your disappointing visit to The Twice Brewed, it is absolutely not our norm - I would be interested to know what your server said when you mentioned the issue? I am very surprised it was not exchanged for you immediately which is what we always do in such a situation. Whilst we are proud of our products, as with lots of meat, there can be gristly bits in it, it does happen though it is not something we would hesitate to change at a customer's request. Sadly, if you didn't mention it at the time, all we can do is apologise in retrospect. Best wishes, TB
