Warm welcome on a chilly night

Rachel G,
We popped in on our way back from a day in Scotland, tired, cold and hungry. A warm welcome and a cosy fire greeted us. I really appreciated the thoughtful menu of low and alcohol free drinks! We only had main courses but all was delicious, home cooked hearty fare. My sister had a trio of lamb: lamb confit, cute mini shepherd's pie and roast lamb, with a seasonal medly of veg. Brother in law's steak and ale pie looked great and disappeared swiftly. Most impressed by proper pie-ness with base and lid! My fish was perfectly cooked and fresh with lovely batter and hand-cut chips. They have rooms and if the standard of the pub decor and food is anything to go by, it would be pleasant place to stay to break a long trip North.

Redesdale Arms replied: Dear Rachel, Thank you for your kind review and lovely comments on the Redesdale Arms. We're delighted you and your family enjoyed your meals and hope to welcome you back, maybe to stay next time! Regards Carrol

Freindly service, good food

John R, Doncaster, United Kingdom
Called in for evening meal while staying nearby. Nice friendly welcome and a good selection of ales. My wife and I both ordered the steak pie. It was delicious and we would definitely call again when in the area.

Excellent food and service

We visited here for lunch between Christmas and New Year. We are a family of 4 and from setting foot in the venue, we felt very welcome. The food took the usual time to arrive and was fairly priced. The staff were lovely and the portion size was good. Definitely would return if in the area.

Redesdale Arms replied: Dear lynzdiclepix, Thank you for taking the time to review the Redesdale Arms. It's great to hear that you enjoyed your visit and we hope to welcome you back. Happy new year from all of us at the Redesdale Arms. Regards Carrol

A lovely two-night stay

ambridge78, Derby, United Kingdom
We stayed at The Redesdale for a couple of nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The owner and her staff were very friendly and helpful in accommodating our vegetarian dining requirements: indeed our meals (breakfasts and dinners) were all excellent - delicious and well-presented. Our room was very comfortable, clean and well-appointed, and the offerings available at the bar went down well too. In summary we would have no hesitation in recommending a stay at The Redesdale, and certainly hope to return if the opportunity arises. Thank you Carrol and team - hope to see you again before too long.

Redesdale Arms replied: Dear Ambridge78, Thank you for your kind review of the Redesdale Arms, we're delighted you enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to welcoming you back again. Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year from all of us at the Redesdale Arms. Regards Carrol
