Love this place, third time I've stayed here ...

It doesn't pretend to be anything but a good pub with dinner, bed and breakfast facilities ... and it is great at that! Good beer, honest food, wonderful, friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Owners weren't on site this stay but bar, restaurant and chef all a credit to them. Says it all really .......

Sorry we only had one night!

With the feel of an old coaching stop from a gothic novel Redesdale Arms welcomed us warmly. The room was large and comfortable and the food was very good. The people in the pub were friendly. As an added bonus this area is designated a "dark sky" area. The hostess offered us binoculars so we could take advantage of the beautiful stars.

Extremely delicious steak!

After a slightly comedic arrival trying to get into the wrong bedroom, we experienced another very enjoyable overnight stop at the Redesdale Arms. We had spent the afternoon taking a scenic tour of North Yorkshire, County Durham and the Hadrians Wall area before heading a few miles further north to Otterburn. We had a delicious supper in the Bar - a shared goats cheese salad, followed by very reasonably priced rump steaks with all the trimmings. The only addition we would have liked was some peas on the plate to balance the battered onion rings, button mushrooms, tomatoes and chunky chips. Pudding was again shared as these are generous portions, and we just squeezed in a smallish creme brulee and homemade shortbread biscuit... The Redesdale is a perfect stopping point for taking in some of the Scottish Borders which we did the following morning after another hearty breakfast...just a short but very sweet Autumn break.

Warm in more ways than one.

A friendly welcome awaited us and even though this is a hotel it still had the personal touch that is only usually attained by a B & B. Lengths were taken to ensure that my partner and I had an early breakfast ahead of the marathon we were completing on our first morning. The food was very good and you can tell the proprietors work hard to make this a successful business. The room was clean and very well equipped.

Two nights for a wedding nearby

We stayed Sat/Sun night to attend a wedding in Otterburn about 5 mins drive. Check in via the bar/restaurant was pretty much straight forward and stayed upstairs in a huge room with 3 beds, so Im guessing it is a family room or something. It was very clean, fresh, traditional and comfortable. Although the bathroom was a bit bland and the toilet cistern never seemed to fill up, it's a lovely little pub. We never ate in the restaurant but it always looked full and inviting. Breakfast is served in an adjoining large room. Help yourself to tea/coffee cereals etc, a member of staff takes your order and a few minutes later a fantastic fresh breakfast. Internet was very good considering its very remote. Coffee/Tea/Chocolate in the room is excellent.
