You don't expect reward for honesty but ......

SK1952me, Keswick, United Kingdom
Had a pleasant meal yesterday and went back this evening. Staff not quite clued up. When we asked for the final bill it was lacking two desserts, a bottle of wine, and a glass of dessert wine. We alerted the person who we thought was the manager. Also, the bottle of wine we had ordered was apparently not available, we were offered another and was told it was the same price. The bill showed a higher price. When this was finally sorted the original bill of around £27 was upped to over £53. As we paid this I, in good humour, noted that the next night's bill might be nothing! You do what you feel is right. But just a thank you for being honest wouldn't have gone amiss. Instead it was a series of excuses about new staff etc. Needless to say we will be going somewhere else tomorrow evening.

Wonderful Service

I have stayed in this Hotel a number of times before. This time however I had specific dietary needs which the staff were able to accommodate without any problems. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They are so pleasant, helpful, kind professional and the guests comfort is their main concern. The Menu is amazing and the portions are very generous. The prices are very reasonable too. Everyone we spoke to about their food were so complimentary too. There were no complaints whatsoever. I can highly recommend the Beadnell Towers for Quality, Value for Money, Service and Location. I look forward to my next visit when ever it may be, the sooner the better as far as I am concerned,

Sunday lunch

We have visited in the past so we're pleased to come back. The Sunday lunch menu not extensive but had all the favourites. The roast beef was available in both rare and well done and in our party we had one of each and neither of us was dissapointed, the other meal we had was pork. The meal was well presented and there was more than enough of veg. We had the 3 course we enjoyed starters and wonderful desserts. Well worth a visit

Overpriced and outdated.

We booked a premium double room with en-suite. If this was premium we wondered what the quality of the standard rooms were like! It was an over bath shower which had very little pressure and no safety handle for getting in and out. The basin hot water tap had to be left running for a considerable time before any hot water came through (what a waste of water) The food was mediocre at best, and was over priced. We found if most strange that you could not order drinks at your table and had to queue at the bar during your meal! The hotel decor is old fashioned with lots and lots of fussy ornaments everywhere. On a higher note, the staff were friendly enough. The overall view, in our opinion, Beadnell Towers does not rate the four stars it has been given.

Traditional and mature style of 'village' establishment, with good facilities.

The property is in an older style and seems to have had an interesting and established 'history' as a residential hotel. The rooms are well equipped and the bar, which caters for locals and casual visitors, is enhanced with a good restaurant. The menu features fresh local dishes, especially fish and seafood items, which are well presented and high quality. Negative issue are small but worthy of note for the less mobile guest - there is no lift and there can be many stairs to some rooms. Whilst the bathrooms are well equipped there is a lack of grab rail for getting into the bath/shower.
