Overview

The Victoria Hotel in Bamburgh, a family owned hotel overlooking the village green in the heart of historic Bamburgh. The village is dominated by a magnificent castle (featured in many historical films) set in beaches that stretch for miles. The area is steeped in a rich history and fortunately much of the environment has been preserved. Bamburgh is considered by many to be the jewel in Northumberland's rich crown.

At the Victoria Hotel, we have a number of room types to suit all budgets. Our great value standard Double & Twin rooms are a great option for those looking to explore Bamburgh & Northumberland. Our popular Superior rooms are ideal for a relaxing weekend break with plenty of space to unwind, whilst our Castle View rooms offer breath-taking views of Bamburgh Castle and the surrounding areas. Look out for our excellent value winter deals which are now available to book.

The hotel serves food all day, open to all, from light snacks in our relaxed bar (which is also dog friendly) to imaginative main courses in our AA rosette awarded Baileys Bar & Restaurant created using the freshest of locally sourced produce.

Part of the family run STR/Keeping Inn group, who also own the Manor House Hotel County Durham, the Centurion Bar in Newcastle Central Station, and the Honest Lawyer Hotel in Durham.

Marvellous mini-break in Bamburgh

KattieB1979,
On our way home from a lovely break in Bamburgh and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Victoria. Received a complimentary upgrade on arrival and our room was spacious with a big comfy bed. Breakfast was great with plenty of hot choices, which were delicious. We found the staff at the hotel really friendly and helpful, especially the lovely lady on reception who couldn't do enough for us - thank you very much. Will definitely be back!

Dog friendly

Skyeblob,
Visited this hotel at the beginning of January. We had a superior bedroom which had the additional comfort of a sofa and chairs so we could relax in the room overlooking the pretty village. The accommodation was value for money although the decor and some of the furnishings in the room were a little dated and needed some attention. The hotel is dog friendly and we could take the dog to breakfast as they set tables in the bar area for dog owners. The food was very good and the staff friendly and helpful. Certainly excellent value for money

Excellent

Gail M,
My husband booked an overnight stay here for both of us as a Christmas present. We stayed on the 14th January for 1 night. From the off all of the staff that we encountered were warm, friendly and very helpful. We were very happy with our room and we ate in the restaurant too. The lady in the restaurant was lovely but I can't remember her name. The food was good and we found it great value for money. I would thoroughly recommend.

Lunch

gill53617, Workington, United Kingdom
Out for lunch and a friends treat. Service Very slow and when food eventually did arrive it was very disappointing. The soup was lukewarm and the bread for sandwiches was bog standard white sliced! My crab tasted salty and "off" What really annoyed us was the price_£8.95 for above sandwich, few lettuce leaves and small tin of chips!! Grossly overpriced ,and when my friend voiced our concerns she was told , after checking with chef, that the crab was fresh! In comparison we had a wonderful lunch at The Ship ,Low Newton. And excellent value!
