Brilliant Sunday lunch

Found this place by accident, bit off the beaten track but worth the journey. The food and service were both excellent, highly recommend, we will be back for an evening meal soon! Good luck to the new owners.

Nice peacefull break with lovely owners

Just arrived home having had a lovely 3 night stay at the Coach House. On arrival we were very kindly upgraded to a much larger delux room with large ensuite bathroom. On the first night we had evening meal in the restaurant and found the food to be of the highest quality with a selection of bottled beers in the bar. We have a small dog and found the hotel to be very dog friendly allowing him in the bar area. Also you will have to go a long way to find a more friendly or accommodating host. The hotel also offers free onsite parking. Otterburn is a very quiet and has one more dog friendly pub which also does good food, it's a good location to explore this beautiful part of the country. I wouldn't hesitate to return if ever in the area again, lovely restaraunt and bar area and lovely owner.

Wow! Sunday lunch

Just arrived back after having lunch at this lovely hotel. The hotel is a beautiful building with a very tasteful decor, the lounge and restaurant areas are very comfortable and the welcome was superb. My husband and I had 3 courses which we found very reasonably priced and the food that was served was excellent, the portion size was generous and was well presented. This all paled into insignificance when the food was tasted it was delicious I chose the arancini with lightly spiced tomato sauce they were yum I followed with traditional roast beef and Yorkshire pudding which was gorgeous brilliant choice of fresh vegetables and roast potatoes you would kill for. Even though quite replete I tried the treacle tart and clotted cream, I was not disappointed it was heavenly, my husband had a delicious ham hock terrine followed by monkfish main and a huge pavlova which he said were fantastic, I have only one complaint and that was the chef wouldn't tell me how he made his roast potatoes! Will definitely be returning .

A very enjoyable overnight stay

We stayed in room number 10 on the ground floor which was nicely decorated with a very comfortable mattress. A characterful wrought iron bed and fresh, clean linen. Lovely. Dimmer lights. Large bathroom with full size bath and overhead shower. Lovely clean and soft hand and bath towels. We felt the room was 'compact' considering it was a deluxe double room but it was only a 1 night stay so didn't mind too much. Nice large window. The staff were exceptional. Very attentive, professional and friendly. The chef made us a very good vegan dinner which we appreciated. Lovely big cooked breakfast too with toast and cereal and fresh fruit. Nice fresh coffee. They had dairy free spread for us and also soya milk. Such a nice guest/bar area. Very comfortable chairs and settees and well decorated. You should give it a try, you won't be disappointed. Highly recommended hotel which gets booked up very quickly.

Perfect evening meal for our family group.

First time eating at this 'local to us' establishment and we were not disappointed! Lovely peaceful decor in the entrance and dining room. Varied menu which we all enjoyed. Haggis Bon bons and bread brought to us while we decided on our order. The steak was perfectly cooked and amongst our group, there were 3 different preferences- but all received as requested and enjoyed. We had a 7 year old with us and no children's options were mentioned on the menu however a choice of these were available when we enquired. The starters and desserts menu was varied and all were tasty and nicely presented. The owner who waited on us was friendly and advised that they had only recently begun to serve meals and her husband is the Chef! Thouroughly enjoyed our evening and would love to go back again.
