Comfortable stay

Léa D, Leeds, United Kingdom
We stayed at Purdy Lodge during the Easter weekend. We had a double room with ensuite bathroom. The bed was comfortable andwehada nice view on the country side andBamburgh castle. despite the lodge being located on the A1, the room was very quiet. The only down point was that the shower was a bit out dated and it was difficult to get the right temperature with the mixer tape, and the bedroom had only one small electric heating, so not the warmest. Breakfast was included intheroom price and we were given alotofchoice, from continental breakfast to full English. We also ate there for dinner. We both have very generous portions of fish and chips. It wasn't the best one I had, but it was alright for the price.

Nice hotel highly recommended

Jessicachae,
Me and my husband stayed a night before visiting the holly island. Location is very nice and there is nice restaurant on the ground floor. Food was very fresh and nice i had haggis balls and veggie curry it was delicious. One think i dont like the water pressure is low but it is not big deal we had a nice bath instead of shower

Likeable lodge

Aidan C,
Advantages and disadvantages to this place. It's in a great location, we were visiting Seahouses and Bamburgh and was a short drive to both! The hotel itself is pleasant the room was nice but cold and mostly clean except a few hairs in the bathroom. Good view from the window too! Was worried about being so close to the busy road with the noise but couldn't hear a thing! But we did hear next door shouting and being loud for the majority of the night. Yes I know it's is not the hotels fault but when we asked the night porter to ask next door to be quiet he didn't seem to be interested in helping until I had to go ask again for anything to happen. The manager was apologetic in the morning and we heard other guests complaining and looking for a discount no doubt haha! Breakfast was nice and paid a good rate for the room. Would use here again if I was in the area.

Decent

,
Me and my partner wanted to stay in Alnwick for a night but hotels in the centre were very expensive so stayed here for £72 a night which I thought was reasonable. 10 minute drive into Alnwick or 20 mins to the coast. Was worried that there'd be a lot of noise with it being by the side of a busy road but couldn't hear a thing, nice views across to bamburgh too. Included breakfast was nice and room was comfortable and cosy. Only complaints are that we found a few hairs in the bathroom that weren't ours but rest of the room was clean. Also we had very noisy people in the room next to us who were shouting and stomping at 2am, went to reception and the receptionist didn't really do anything until we complained for a second time, then he told them to be quiet. All in all I'd recommend this place if you're looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful.

Just ok

stephen s,
Very basic and over priced but served our requirements for the one night. Food in main restaurant very nice, breakfast was good although waitress needs to learn people skills. The other staff were brilliant. 24 hour cafe next door was handy.
