Had a one night stay in a family room which was clean and comfortable. Stunning views across the countryside, Bamburgh castle in the distance Food was to a high standard. Very friendly staff. Will definitely return

Short break

Recently stayed at Purdy Lodge for a 2 day break. The hotel clean and comfortable and easy assessed from the A1. Even though it's on the busy road there is no noise from the traffic. Great location we visited the Holy island, Bamburgh, seahouses and Alnwick which is all a short drive from the hotel. The staff helpful and friendly, nice choice of food from the restaurant as well as 24 hour cafe on site if the hotel.

Close to attractions, quaint and well kept.

We booked this place as it was reasonably priced and near all the attractions we wanted to visit. It was a good location for us as it was in between each of the castles and places we wanted to go it was about the same distance to each. It is like a travel lodge but quaint and it is on a road in the middle of nowhere next to a petrol station. It was nice and well kept. Views of fields at the back and a few tables outside at the front. Nice in the sunshine! The staff are very pleasant and food was nice, they cook whatever you would like for breakfast. Evening meals were reasonably priced but we did spend more than we would've liked just getting a family tea!! There wasn't really any other option on our first evening when we didn't know the area. Going to Seahouses for fish and chips was good the second evening! From here we visited bamburgh castle Alnwick castle, lindesfarne and sea houses. I would recommend the boat trips to the farne islands it is great seeing all the birds and scenery! I would have preferred a less remote area however I'm guessing you would pay more for this. The good thing here was everything was approx 10-20mins drive in one direction or another, it was a centre point.

A very convenient stop over

Situated on the A1, with Banburgh castle & its wide sandy beeches just 10 minutes away, Purdy Lodge is a clean & well equipped privately owned (dog friendly) motel with pleasant staff and a very nice little bar & restaurant.

Nice stay

One night stay in Purdy Lodge was good. Room a bit dated but clean and you cannot hear a thing at night. Very friendly staff and tasty breakfast included. Good location makes our trip faster and easier.
