Beautiful castle and hotel

vees2712, Derbyshire, United Kingdom
I stayed for 3 nights in August with my daughter. Lovely experience. Staff friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble and you were never hurried. Food amazing - we had all menus over the 3 days - dinner delightful, probably the small portions would disappoint a large eat but ideal for me. Breakfast buffet -many choices plus breakfast cooked to order using locally produce products - extensive menu but happily accommodated changes or personal choices. The relaxed menus, served in the drawing room, again brilliant and comfortable place to relax and eat informally. We stayed in the castle view annexe - room and bathroom were big, plenty of room , comfortable bed and chairs and sofa to relax on. Quiet location. The grounds are beautiful, loved the peacocks which sat outside and room and escorted us to our car and castle when going out. Lots of lovely bunnies around in the evening , happily watching life go by. Make sure you take up the offer the the battlement tour including the history of the castle. Langley Castle fulfills everyone's dream of staying in a castle, it would especially be memorable for any budding princess or knight. The children staying at the hotel had smiles permanently on their faces, the staff were very good with them too.

Great place to stay

hilaryandray, Olney, United Kingdom
We felt it was time we explored Northumberland, so after a 250 mile drive we were delighted to find that Langley Castle was an excellent place to make our base for three nights. We stayed in a superior room in the Castle View outbuildings which was very comfortable and spacious. We used a Groupon deal which gave us a cream tea on arrival and dinner on our first night. Dinner was very good and we decided to eat there again on our second night, but at £43 a head and an unchanged menu, we opted to eat out on our third night. The staff were excellent, all local Northumbrians very happy to give information on places to visit and obviously proud of their county.

Nice place to treat yourself

This is a luxurious place to visit and is a stunning view when you draw up the drive from the main road. The evening meal was relatively expensive at £42 each but had some exciting flavours so, was worth the price for the experience. We were a bit disappointed with the cleanliness of the room in that the kettle was dusty along with other small areas and the feedback card from the previous customers had not been collected. Given the price charged for the room I would have expected a bit more attention to detail. However the room was spacious, the bed comfy and generally clean. In summary worth the price as a special treat.

Finally a princess!

Our one night stay in Langley Castle was a highlight of our tour of England! Such an amazing place, beautifully restored we had an amazing room with sweeping views from the window nook, the dinner was incredible and breakfast did not disappoint, either. Staff was extremely helpful and gracious, also enjoyed the tour of this amazing spot that was provided. Loved it!

Lovely couples retreat

ajh64, Norwich, United Kingdom
We found Langley Castle quite by accident but didn't regret it for one minute. The staff are welcoming, attentive and very keen on visitors having a good time. The Castle is decorated appropriately showing its long and loved history. Staff undertake battlement tours every morning after breakfast and the views from the top of the castle are beautiful and you can see over to Hadrians Wall. Rooms were good, clean and comfortable and well serviced. Breakfast was full and everything you would expect from a hotel of this standard. Dinner was exquisite, just lovely with every mouthful a treat - really very good. We will definitely be back and we're sorry to leave. The only suggestion I would make for Improvement would be for more vegetarian options to be available - this was the reason we went off site when we really would have liked to have eaten at the hotel. If you want some chill out time and to be looked after, Langley Castle will hold you and give you rest and restoration.
