Overview

A genuine 14thC castle set in a 12-acre woodland estate with brush-mown lawns. All 27 guest rooms have private facilities, some of which boast window seats set into 7ft-thick walls, sauna, spa bath, and 4-poster beds.

Castleview and Castle View Lodge - converted Grade I Listed buildings within the grounds, offer additional guest rooms. All rooms have draped canopies over the bed, colour satellite TV and stunning views up to the main castle 80m away.

The magnificent drawing room, with blazing log fire, traceries and stained glass, together with the oak-panelled cocktail bar, compliment the intimate nature of the Josephine Restaurant.

The food served in the restaurant is of the highest order, making the most of fresh, local produce, with fish and game a speciality.

With recent changes in the law, which have allowed marriages to take place in certain registered premises, Langley has quickly established itself as one of the country's foremost venues for hosting civil weddings.

Langley is perfect for discovering the delights of Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, the Scottish Borders and the Metro Centre. The exclusive nature of the castle makes Langley the perfect destination to be pampered in unique surroundings.

Wonderful nights stay

PHedar, Rotherham, United Kingdom
We were given a one nights stay as a present for our golden Wedding . It was a wonderful experience to stay in a genuine Castle, the staff couldn't do enough for us, the room was brilliant & the food & service were excellent. We didn't want a 3 or 4 course meal & were informed that we could just 1 course. We enjoyed our break & would go again.

amazing hotel

My wife and I stayed for two nights on a half board basis. Firstly the staff friendly helpful smart a credit to the hotel. Next the room WOW. We stayed in the Greenwich Room a step back in time this luxury room was very comfortable with its four poster bed, sofa and window seat. through a short corridor was a dressing room and an amazing bathroom. Be ware this room is up several flights of stairs although if needed you can arrange to use the service lift. The main bar lounge area was very comfortable and a great place for a drink. The restaurant was again very comfortable and the food perfectly cooked and presented. My only disappointment was the kipper I had for breakfast on the last day it reminded me of the frozen kipper fillets you got years ago, I had expected a proper kipper taking into account how near we were to Scotland. This is just a minor gripe. Would I stay again most defiantly. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Disappointed

alisonl62, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom
Got an afternoon tea voucher as a gift and decided to stay overnight. Picked a castle view room because they looked bigger, and thought it may be quieter than in the castle. Room on 1st impressions was nice but after settling in we noticed a few things that for the £199.00 for B & B we paid, I would not have expected, mainly bathroom issues. Flaking pain hanging down from ceiling in shower, not just a small bit, actually a bit about 2" long, cracked tile in shower and another to the right of the washbasin, Chipped paint around all ceiling lights, 1 light was off, and the grout in shower was badly discoloured and looked mouldy, front of shower unit at floor looked the same. One towel was very ragged and torn at edge. Carved facia on back of bathroom door looks very dusty. Very dusty in corner in living area, actually cobwebs onto carpet under aircon control. At breakfast I opted for the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on wholemeal toast, but I asked for white toast instead, when it came scrambled egg was actually folded over like a soft omelette and there was no toast at all, we had a couple of pieces left from the toast rack so I just had that, nobody checked back to see if everything was OK. Sounds a lot but none of them spoilt our stay but I expected more from the class of hotel it is. The afternoon tea was superb and husbands Northumbrian breakfast was very nice, as was my salmon.

A hotel stay with the wow factor!

We spent one night here and stayed in the Castle View cottage. The room was beautifully decorated and kept - very spacious with all the usual requirements met - tv, mini-bar, courtesy tray etc and a lovely large bathroom with toiletries. It was nice and quiet too, despite there being peacocks outside on the lawn when we arrived - they were no-where to be seen the next morning! The breakfast service was slick and unobtrusive and the food very tasty and plentiful. We had an afternoon tea on arrival in the hall upstairs. This was very tasty and in such a lovely setting. The battlement tour offered in the morning after breakfast is also very informative and a good use of an hour of your morning. A beautiful setting, a lovely hotel and a very special night's stay.

Excellent unobtrusive service and food

Denis G,
Had a fabulous break at Langley Castle very relaxing. Staff service is excellent and unobtrusive. Food quality is also excellent for the evening meal and the Breakfast. Room was well appointed and the seating by the Castle view rooms are great sun traps to sit on and watch the peacocks.
