Overview

A genuine 14thC castle set in a 12-acre woodland estate with brush-mown lawns. All 27 guest rooms have private facilities, some of which boast window seats set into 7ft-thick walls, sauna, spa bath, and 4-poster beds.

Castleview and Castle View Lodge - converted Grade I Listed buildings within the grounds, offer additional guest rooms. All rooms have draped canopies over the bed, colour satellite TV and stunning views up to the main castle 80m away.

The magnificent drawing room, with blazing log fire, traceries and stained glass, together with the oak-panelled cocktail bar, compliment the intimate nature of the Josephine Restaurant.

The food served in the restaurant is of the highest order, making the most of fresh, local produce, with fish and game a speciality.

With recent changes in the law, which have allowed marriages to take place in certain registered premises, Langley has quickly established itself as one of the country's foremost venues for hosting civil weddings.

Langley is perfect for discovering the delights of Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, the Scottish Borders and the Metro Centre. The exclusive nature of the castle makes Langley the perfect destination to be pampered in unique surroundings.

Castletastic!

twozerouk .,
Dined here with friends who were guests. Excellent meals in a pleasant dining room and efficient attentive staff made for a successful evening. My friends mentioned the steep stairs to their room but that's part of castle living ! Easy parking and the hotel is surrounded by exceptional countryside.

Wonderful hotel, fabulous rooms and ambiance, beautiful dinning experience

389tonyn, Menlo Park, California
A group of us stayed at Langley Castle. It was a highlight of our North England tour. We each had amazing rooms - in fact we ended up visiting each other's rooms. We all had fun canopied beds and window seats built into the stone walls. Admittedly, the window seats are more fun to experience than they are comfortable. We arranged for a tour of the castle and that took us up to the towers and the chapel. We had dinner in the wonderful modern glass room in the back. A fabulous space. Dinner was quite lovely. Some folks come by just for lunch so that they at least experience the castle a little bit. Definitely try to arrange to stay here if you can.

A Classic Stay in Northumberland

Meandering_Mainer, Not Quite Down East
As part of our two week "There and Back Again" tour through the UK, my wife insisted that at some point we stay in a bona fide castle... as it turns our we stayed in two. Langley was our first. After winding our way through the expanses of Northumberland, we arrived at Langley Castle in the late afternoon and before us lay a long driveway running up to a classic tower style castle. Plenty of parking was available and we were greeted warmly by the staff. We stayed in one of the suites on the third floor of the main tower and the room was fantastic - four poster bed, a large beautiful bathroom and a small alcove with cushioned seats that looked out over the grounds. This was just what we had hoped to find. That evening, we ate at the castle restaurant - and again, the service was excellent - as were the meals. This was likely the most expensive of all the hotels we stayed at on our trip, but it was well worth it.

Amazing and memorable stay!

Edz M,
We stayed in the Derwentwater room with family and it was incredible. You can really feel the rustic ambience like you were back in time. The castle itself, the facilities, the staff and the surrounding is awesome! Special thanks to the lady staff to whom we never got the name. We travelled by train to Haydon Bridge and we cannot find any taxi to reach the hotel. We called the hotel and requested if they can book a taxi for us to pick us up on the station and take us to the hotel. After few minutes, the lady staff arrived and apologizing that she wasn't able to get a taxi for us, instead she personally came with her car and pick us up. It was truly a great gesture since it's already beyond her role. Amazing service and amazing stay!

Amazing stay

Tony C, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom
Booked an overnight stay for our anniversary which included a cream tea, 3 course evening meal, full breakfast and a tour of the battlements. I couldn't recommend it more from the lovely, clean courtyard room through to the quality of service from all staff members. Nothing was too much trouble for anybody. All the food was of an excellent quality but especially the evening meal from lobster risotto, pigeon, sea trout through to deliciously rich puddings. I had the cheese board which had an exceptional selection varying from goats cheese, smoked and full mature. Location is great also with easy reach of the lovely market town of Hexham or a quick drive over to the Lake District.
