Overview

A genuine 14thC castle set in a 12-acre woodland estate with brush-mown lawns. All 27 guest rooms have private facilities, some of which boast window seats set into 7ft-thick walls, sauna, spa bath, and 4-poster beds.

Castleview and Castle View Lodge - converted Grade I Listed buildings within the grounds, offer additional guest rooms. All rooms have draped canopies over the bed, colour satellite TV and stunning views up to the main castle 80m away.

The magnificent drawing room, with blazing log fire, traceries and stained glass, together with the oak-panelled cocktail bar, compliment the intimate nature of the Josephine Restaurant.

The food served in the restaurant is of the highest order, making the most of fresh, local produce, with fish and game a speciality.

With recent changes in the law, which have allowed marriages to take place in certain registered premises, Langley has quickly established itself as one of the country's foremost venues for hosting civil weddings.

Langley is perfect for discovering the delights of Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, the Scottish Borders and the Metro Centre. The exclusive nature of the castle makes Langley the perfect destination to be pampered in unique surroundings.

OMG What a place, best ever hotel stay.

Paul C, Tutbury, United Kingdom
We managed to obtain a special offer for a one night stay which included dinner, breakfast and a tour of the castle in the morning. To say we thoroughly enjoyed our stay is an understatement. All food was perfect and could not be faulted. Well done and we look forward to our next stay.

Lovely Hotel in idyllic surroundings

Mike M, Peterborough, United Kingdom
Stayed here for two nights as part of a tour of Northumberland. The ‘Castle View’ room was lovely with a great view of the castle and grounds which were immaculate, and the castle peacocks added wildlife interest. Had a fantastic evening meal (Crispy Hens Egg, Guinea Fowl & Pineapple tart Tatin) which combined great flavours and sensible sized portions. Only observation that I would make is that the cooked breakfast is a little heavy, the sausage is solid! and overall the breakfast could do with a more liquid element (Beans?) to lighten it. That aside I would recommend both the accommodation and the restaurant for anyone wanting a romantic and peaceful get away.

Special Experience which should be on your Bucket List...

Lamby64, Grimsby, United Kingdom
What words can I use to describe our stay at Langley....Special,awesome,breathtaking, to name but a few. From the superb grounds with pleasant walks filled with wildlife such as peacocks and rabbits and beautifully tended grounds. From the sweeping entrance and majestic views from the top of the Castle during the Battlement tour and the informative tour around the Castle. We stayed in the De Lucy room and we weren't disappointed, it was just off from the impressive drawing room where we enjoyed pre dinner drinks. If you want to spend a break in a 14 th century Castle and live like a Lord or Lady..this is the place to be. Staff were in the main very courteous and polite and special thanks go to the young receptionist, the lady who conducted our tour(sorry no names provided) and Andrew who was highly attentive during our dining experience. Book this and get swept back in time in the history and auto of this magnificent Castle. Thank you to all at Langley for a special stay !

A great Place to eat in a historic castle

Kwan Ming ,
I last visited this place in June of 2016, And stayed for lunch I order the Ham Sandwich with peas pudding on Granary bread which comes with salad crisps. I also order a diet coke with my meal and wasn't disappointed as the quality of the food and the levels of service were truely exemplary, I would recommend this place to anyone who happens to visit this historic castle for lunch. My thanks go to all of the staff/employees who made my day so enjoyable.

A sad ending

BrianL25, Liverpool, United Kingdom
My wife booked an overnight stay for us. The castle is fantastic; set in impressive grounds. Unfortunately, the whole experience was spoiled by the very surly receptionist who handled our checkout. We had ordered a newspaper which didn't arrive and this lack of efficiency was also apparent on checkout when we were undercharged for the drinks from the previous night.
