This Ranger's Favourite Walk in the Harthope Valley has a short steep climb which is well worth the effort with spectacular views up the valley and over to the coast. The walk will include a stop at Old Middleton, the inspiration behind one of Simon Armitage's Poems in the Air. This is an easy walk suitable for most walkers - whilst there are some steep ascents and descents, there will be enough stops to take in the views and allow you to catch your breath.
