Planning a group visit can be a tricky business, especially when co-ordinating a larger coach visit. To help with the logistics of organising group visits we have put together guides to Northumberland’s towns (downloadable below) which include public toilets, coach parking, shopping and things to see.
Getting to Northumberland
Many people tell us they travelled through Northumberland on the way to Edinburgh or York but didn’t realise what they were missing! The main A1 road runs through the county from top to bottom, making many of our top attractions easily accessible. The A69 runs across the county linking us with the Lake District and Carlisle in the west and Newcastle in the east, mirroring the path of Hadrian’s Wall.
The East Coast Mainline also runs through Northumberland, one of its most scenic sections, and only 3 hours on the train from London makes hiring transport locally a great option for groups wanting to make the most of their holiday time.
Details about coach parking in our towns can be found in the town guides below. Download a full list of coach parking in Northumberland in County Council car parks.
Northumberland has a network of Visitor Information Centres who are also happy to help with local enquiries, including coach parking in Northumberland.
