The Rothbury Street fair is a much loved event in the North East's event calendar. It takes place every year on Whitsun Bank Holiday Monday in the lovely traditional stone market town of Rothbury under the town's famous avenue of horse chestnuts - which flower just in time for the event every year!. Visitors flock from quite considerable distances to enjoy the event which traditionally marks the start of the Summer Season in Mid and North Northumberland. We have been informed by Northumbrian Police that in their estimate, well over 5,000 visitors join the locals for the day.

This year a new management team is revitalising the day bringing fresh activities, events and attractions such as a Teddy Bears' picnic, hand bell ringing demonstration and a fun dog show to add to the old favourites such as the Rothbury Duck Race, live local music, fair rides, games and stalls. There will be plenty to see, do and eat and all in the lovely surroundings of one of Northumberland's oldest and prettiest villages.
