summer holiday

peter g, Yarm, United Kingdom
Our venue for annual family holiday for past 11 years.Three adjoining cottages.Never fails to impress with quality facilities and myriad of things to do.Weather always ok and close proximity of the best beaches ever makes up for the coldness of the north sea.Castles,islands,wildlife...all add to the Northumberland experience.

Engine house... fab stay just a few minor pointers

wrigglediaries,
Just got back from a week in the Engine house cottage. We previously stayed in this cottage 18 months ago and after a great stay then we decided to book again. The cottage is in a beautiful position with fabulous views of the farne islands and Bamburgh castle, and has all of the amenities you could need. The reason I've marked it 4* rather than 5* is because there were just a few pointers that meant this stay wasn't quite as good as our last: - there is some building work going on by the cottages which we would have appreciated some forewarning about, or even a little note in the cottage on our arrival to apologise. It started at 8am each morning (which is early when you're on Holiday and trying to have a lie-in!) and went on throughout the whole day! Tyne banging was really loud and forceful, even causing tiles to fall off in the utility and one of the en-suite bedrooms! - the cottage decor looked a little tired and we felt it needs a bit of a freshen up. - one of the sofas is broken so you sink right down into it! Really it needs replacing! In addition, we really feel that the cottage could be made even better if a downstairs toilet was put into the utility room! Having said all of that we would still return to springhill again, although we may try an alternative cottage next time! It's in a perfect position for exploring Northumberland and it's idyllic, yet still close to everything that you could possibly need!

The Bothy

Liz H, Preston, United Kingdom
Our 6th stay at Springhill and our 1st at The Bothy beautiful cottage with stunning views. The downside to the large windows is you are on view but small price to pay. The cottage clean beautifully decorated with everything you need definitely 5 star.

Lovely little cottage

Margaret G, Bingley, United Kingdom
Just returned from three night stay in Croft Cottage at Springhill Farm. Lovely weekend break, our first time to the area. Lovely little two bed cottage, perfect for our stay with our daughter her partner and our two dogs. Cottage was spotlessly clean on our arrival. We arrived about 5pm and found the cottage open and very welcoming. Lovely touch to have fresh bread, milk and a lovely fresh cream cake in the fridge. Cottage had everything we needed, it was cosy and warm and we would definitely stay there again. Didn't use any other facilities on the site, so not able to comment. Lovely area and perfect for walking our two dogs.

Fabulous!

Shelley A, London, United Kingdom
We stayed for one night last week on 20th September. Met the other guests who were a group of uni students on a field trip. They were all so lovely and polite and we felt welcome. The farm is lovely, fantastic facilities, wonderful views from The Lookout onto The Farne Islands. Room was clean and tidy and for £35 it was fabulous value. Kitchen area extremely well equipped and although we ate out there was a very nice kitchen/diner. So close to Seahouses and a very quiet location. Highly recommended!
