One night at warm comfy b and b

Travelling solo for a stop over. Nice welcome. Easy parking off A68. Wifi worked. Had a good nights sleep. Quiet and well appointed room which also accommodated wheelchairs. Delicious well-cooked breakfast. Recommended.

A group of seven of us visited on our way to Scotland on motorbikes. We were all very impressed with the quality of the rooms and the friendliness of the host. Will definitely try to visit again next year.

excellent stay

Rick S,
A small party of 7 of us had a one night stay here - bed and breakfast - breaking our journey up to Scotland . It was so nice, you could have based a holiday here - we all agreed on that. We had afternoon tea in their delightful lounge. Service very good. We didn't eat here on the evening because we didn't book and they were fully booked. We walked to a nearby pub. Breakfast was very good and the staff were excellent. The rooms around the courtyard to the rear of the property were spacious and delightfully furnished. Would certainly stay there again when next on a trip in that area.

Lovely relaxing stay.

After an unfortunate first 2 nights in Northumberland in disappointing accommodation I moved to the coach house for the last 3 nights on a last minute booking. I couldn't have been made more welcome and finally began to relax. The room was beautiful and spacious - yes it has low beams but it is an old property with loads of character and a really lovely feel. The bed was large and comfortable, everything spotlessly clean and the public areas very pleasant. Little extras like a fridge in the room for fresh milk, a teapot and even an orchid gave a touch of pampering which many places don't bother with. All of the food was fresh and beautifully cooked (poached eggs superb!) and delicious. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and achieved that perfect balance of 'available but not intrusive'. The coach house was the 'rescue' I needed and I would have no hesitation in going back. Many thanks to all.

Good enough but could be better

TravellerEdinburgh, Edinburgh
Booked via Booking.com for one night for ourselves and our two children. When we arrived our two rooms were miles apart. When a family booking comes in it would be courteous to be informed that rooms are so far apart. We had one room in the main house and one across an external courtyard so the whole thing was disjointed and involved faffing about splitting bags etc. Rooms are lovely and very clean. However, my 9 year old and I were in a room above the restaurant so it was VERY noisy and all I can smell in the room is cauliflower wafting from the kitchen. Not a great way to end the holiday and far too noisy. There are also no fire regulation signs in the rooms and bearing in mind all doors have to be locked with a key this isn't great. I thought it was a legal requirement to display fire exit signs/evacuation/assembly point info. Rooms cannot be faulted otherwise but I can't say it is a 5 just yet.
