A brilliant B&B with fantastic hosts!

We stayed two nights here recently as we were taking part in the Allendale Challenge and The Reading Rooms were perfect for our stay. Brian, our host, was extremely helpful, making sure we knew what we were doing for the challenge and even getting up early to make us a hearty breakfast before we set off on our walk. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean and overlooked the river which was lovely. It was a very short walk to some nice pubs and also a mini-supermarket. We had a later start the day after our challenge and enjoyed a full English before heading on our way. Brian also catered for gluten-free, with gluten-free porridge one morning and gluten-free toast the next, which was great. Overall a fantastic find and if we decide to the challenge again we will definitely be back!

Great Bed and Breakfast

Gillian B,
We decided at the last minute to stop off at Haydon Bridge overnight. We found the Reading Rooms bed and breakfast. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. We would definitely return to this delightful bed and breakfast.

We have stayed at The Reading Rooms a number of times, as we have family who live in Haydon Bridge. The rooms are excellent, the breakfast was excellent, the location was excellent. We would always use this B&B when visiting Haydon Bridge.

I stay here for businesses at least once a year when I'm working in the area and its fantastic. I always get a very warm welcome from the host, the rooms are warm, clean and comfortable and the breakfast is always delicious! If you need a bed and breakfast in Haydon Bridge or the surrounding area, I highly recommend the Reading Rooms.

Welcoming break

This B and B had so many qualities; really clean and lovely smelling sheets and towels, nice toiletries, all those little things you want in a room (hair dryer, bottled water, coffee, tea and biscuits), a super comfy bed, a really quiet and restful night's sleep but what made it a cut above others was the friendliness, attentiveness and care of Brian and the fantastically yummy, locally sourced (and non-greasy) breakfast (with copious coffee!). I was travelling alone and am often anxious about feeling self-conscious but Brian was so genuinely interested and caring he made me feel a valued customer. I would highly recommend the Reading Rooms.
