Overview

We are situated between Alnwick and Berwick-upon-Tweed and just 2 minutes off the A1. Our location is perfectly located to explore the extensive and diverse range of attractions Northumberland has to offer.

There is private on-site parking plus secure storage for cyclists and motorcyclists including drying facilities and helmet storage. In the warm summer months, guests are very welcome to relax in the secluded garden, overlooking the open countryside.

Our three rooms are appointed to a high standard with luxury bedding, bathrobes and toiletries. Our accommodation has been sympathetically re-decorated and furnished to reflect the period age of the building, whilst providing up-to-date facilities for the discerning traveller.

The Berwick Room (new for 2017) is a luxury double, located on the ground floor.  It has an en-suite shower room, under stair cupboard/wardrobe with a mini-fridge.  It has the original high ceiling and wooden shutters.

The Longstone Room is a superior twin bedded room, elegantly decorated and furnished with two chairs and two large sash windows overlooking St Mary's Church.

The Coquet Room has a king size bed with two chairs, hanging rack and a large en-suite shower room with splendid views across the surrounding countryside.

All bedrooms have en-suite facilities and benefit from:

·              Nespresso coffee machines

·              Full hospitality tray with a selection of teas from Ringtons

·              Homemade produce on arrival

·              Hairdryer

·              USB socket points

·              Heated towel rails

·              Flat screen Smart televisions with Freeview channels

·              Free high speed WiFi

Our award winning breakfasts are cooked-to-order, using quality, local produce in our menu.  We are also members of the `Produced in Northumberland’ scheme. Our muesli, marmalade and jam is home-made on the premises and the breakfast menu choices can be viewed on our website.

PLEASE NOTE: We, regrettably, cannot accommodate wheelchairs at Post Office House.

Faultless!

lucyblakewilson, London, United Kingdom
Just finished our stay at this fantastic b&b. Our room was immaculate, with crisp white sheets and every luxury you can think of including bath robes, toiletries, hot drinks and lovely extra touches. Our host was so lovely, giving us local recommendations and went out of her way to make us feel at home. Breakfast this morning was delicious and even included homemade jam. We will definitely be back for a longer stay. Lucy & chris

Wonderful B&B

Alison N,
Very welcoming B&B. Small and cosy, quiet location, wonderful views from our room. We were offered home-made cake on arrival which was delicious and our breakfast was fabulous with lots of home-made products on offer.

Post Office House Bed & Breakfast replied: Thank you Alison N, we are delighted you both loved our homemade cake which is always a favourite with our guests and our breakfasts too. We try to provide as much variety as possible, especially with the fish dishes, they are also very popular. It was a pleasure to meet you both and hope to see you later in the year. We have so much to see and explore here, including the wonderful boat trips over to the Farne Islands. Kind regards Claire & Simon

Loved this place....

ckestell, Ambleside, United Kingdom
Yes! Now this was a real treat of a place to stay. Clean and spacious room....with real milk for my well earned cuppa tea! AND a slice of gingerbread to boot! Claire and Simon have nailed it here. The attention to detail is wonderful, even a little jar of marshmallows for your hot chocolate in your room. The breakfast was all made from locally sourced produce...Would defo go again. Thanks for having us.

Post Office House Bed & Breakfast replied: You are very welcome, ckestell and it was a pleasure to meet you both. Thank you for your very helpful feedback and lovely comments. We thought the mini marshmallows would add a little luxury to the hot chocolate we provide, we like to treat our guests to something different! Delighted you enjoyed the gingerbread too! Hope you both enjoyed the remainder of your weekend and your walk to Berwick. We look forward to welcoming you both back to us in the near future. Kind regards Claire & Simon

Really enjoyed our 2 night stay here.Simon and Claire are lovely hosts and nothing was to much trouble.Comfy beds,a lovely breakfast and lots of interesting places to visit in the area. The best B&B we have visited (and we have stayed in a few) Mick and Sallie from South Devon.

Post Office House Bed & Breakfast replied: Thank you, Mick and Sallie, for this lovely praise and feedback of Post Office House and hope your journey back to Devon was trouble-free. You must come for a longer stay next time as there is so much to see and do here in Northumberland.
