Lovely overnight stay

Lesley R, Gateshead, United Kingdom
We have just returned from a lovely overnight stay at this guesthouse. Spacious, clean and lovely decorated family room with a double and two single beds and a large bathroom. A delicious breakfast, full English for my husband, smoked salmon for myself and the fussy children were well catered for. I only met Moria who was a lovely welcoming hostess. Would recommend.

Lovely B&B ~ a great find!

Recently returned from our first trip to Northumberland and can only re-iterate previous reviews. We just cannot fault the Malabar. Moira and Brian are lovely hosts and aim to make your stay an enjoyable one. Their guest house is immaculate with every commodity for your convenience. We were put up in room 2 (family room) which was very spacious and airy and had the luxury of a bath and a shower. The king size bed was super comfy. The room was cleaned daily and there was a different piece of Moira's lovely homemade cake left each day which was a welcome treat after a day out exploring. A nice personal touch. There was everything you could wish for at breakfast and it was easy to see why Malabar had recently won a Breakfast award. The cooked breakfasts certainly set you up for the day. Both Moira and Brian are very friendly, warm, welcoming hosts and can give you plenty of information around the local area and places to visit etc. Malabar is in the perfect location with just a short walk to the village of Seahouses where there are shops, cafes, pubs and fish restaurants and of course you are right by the sea. Seahouses is a great base for exploring the area. If you are after a nice relaxing break in great, homely accommodation then you won't go far wrong with Malabar. Northumberland is a beautiful part of the country and we plan to return again and it will most definitely be back to Malabar 😀

Never let down

I've been visiting here for the last 7 year's. Moira & Brian never fail with the welcome we get on arrival. Took my Mum there this year & they welcomed her with open arm's. Rooms are very clean, choice of breakfast is fantastic. Places to visit, Alnwick Gardens, Farne Islands, eat at the Links or the Indian on the main street. Coffee shop is lovely & if you fancy a pamper go see Brogan at Brogan's beauty but book as she get's very busy. See you next year Moira & Brian

Great time at The Malabar

Kay B,
What a great bed and breakfast accommodation! The guesthouse is in a good location, very close to Seahouses. We had a ground floor room which was very spacious. Moira and Brian were fantastic hosts and very informative about the surrounding area. Breakfast was very well presented and plenty of it! Nothing was too much trouble. I am more than happy to recommend this accommodation and would be happy to return.

My mum and I have just returned from a 2 night stay at this lovely guest house. Situated 2 mins from Seahouses harbour and a 5 min drive to the lovely village of Bamburgh, it is ideally located. On arrival we had cake left in our room which was great after the drive there, the room was clean, comfy and very welcoming. We had a twin room and it had its in ensuite with a bath and shower. For breakfast your could pre order a range of smoked fish or you could have a cooked english breakfast, a continental selections or ceral and fruits. The choice aas plentiful and delicious. The hosts, Moira and Brian were welcoming without being overbearing and were very helpful with advice and suggestions within the region. On our last day we had a four hour drive south and for £6 each we had a delicious packed lunch of the nicest quiche and ham sandwichs i hace ever tasted. Accompanied with homemade cake, crisps, fruit yoghurt and a drink it eas incredible value. We will definitely retunr when next in Seahouses and will be recommending to friends and family.
