Pretty Working Farm

Nancy P,
Wanted to visit Bamburgh and Alnwick Castles and to stay on quiet farm away from the hustle of tourists. Jane & Joe were fabulous hosts!!! Sunrises were magnificent! If you want to be unplugged and in the country with magical views, this is the spot!

Mr holt

Geoff H,
Stayed at the Dunns houses for one evening as attending a wedding in otterburn. Was very welcoming from arrival and Lovely and clean. My views from the room were stunning. Morning breakfast was delightful with a wide variety of options to choose from which set me up for my drive home. Definitely recommend this stunning farm house. Thank you for your hospitality 😀

Warm and welcoming hosts, a great breakfast, a lovely home, but a little remote for non-drivers.

dennisonpacker,
From the moment we made the booking to the moment we left at the end of our stay, we were made to feel incredibly welcome by Jane. She was really accommodating and friendly, and a fantastic breakfast cook too! The Rievers Room was cosy, clean, and had a lovely en-suite shower. The dining/breakfast room was fantastic, looking out onto the adjacent farm and fields. Jane was also very accommodating of our personal plans, arrival times and settling the balance of the booking. We strongly recommend that you either book at Dunns B&B on the proviso that you drive so that you can get about, or that you ask Jane for her trusted local cabbie Ron as the B&B is a good 30-45 minute walk from the nearest town or village. Ron and his wife helped my partner and I get about even at a moments notice, which is great when you're so remote! We also strongly recommend the Redesdale Arms, a pub/restaurant just 5 minutes from the B&B.

Friendly and helpful beyond comparison

If you are looking for a country house with amazing views and a friendly host then this is the place for you. We cant fault our stay and will be going back. It is an old house so dont expect flash modern looks but the important bits are lovely food, a fantastically helpful and friendly host, comfy large room and hot showers, fresh milk for tea in your room and kettle etc.

Mixed Review

Bev S, South Shields, United Kingdom
We booked this for a two night stay for a family wedding at Woodhill Hall. Due to unforeseen illness we had to reduce our stay to one night and one less person. Jayne the owner was fabulous with correspondence and didn't charge us for the night we had to cancel and charged us slightly less due to one person not making it. You get a warm welcome and the outside views of their livestock is breathtaking. The tea/coffee making facilities are good with jugs of fresh milk, biscuits and bottled water. She even brought a rocking horse for my grandson to play on. The breakfast is vast and varied with cereals, fresh fruit and a choice of cooked and continental breakfast served with fruit juices and freshly brewed coffee as well as ample rounds of toast you do yourself. For us the down side is the cleanliness of the rooms, hall stairs and entrance. The house is furnished with very old furniture, the bed linen was clean and crisp but the windows, carpets, especially the edges and skirtings were very dusty with cobwebs, nothing a spring clean wouldn't sort. The bathrooms were clean and usable. The cot provided was so old so would recommend you take a travel cot which she gave us a choice but car space for us was limited. The family room was very cold but the Percy double was a comfortable temperature. A little bit attention to detail would most definitely improve the experience but understand it is a busy working farm.
