Lovely stay

We had a wonderful stay at this gorgeous b&b. Anne and Martin made us feel right at home and were genuinely interested in our stories. The room was Lovely and breakfast to die for. The small personal touches like homemade bread and all the most friendly advices regarding walks and places to go, made this place a true and rare gem!

Another lovely stay

aps100, Derby, United Kingdom
Just back from another lovely stay with Anne and Martin. Great hosts, well looked after and if my wife thinks it's going to be smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast every day now we're home she better think again!! We won't leave it so long before coming to stay again, promise.

Excellent bed and breakfast near the popular Hadrian's Wall walk

Katherine S, Rochester, New York
The location and rooms were lovely, with a full bathroom and in-suite tea and biscuits and wifi, but what really set this B&B apart was how friendly and helpful the hosts were. The hosts picked us up from the Hadrian's Wall exit in Haltwhistle, and after a long day in the rain, we were wet, tired, and late. The hosts patiently waited for us till after the agreed on pickup, took us back, and even managed to get my sodden boots dry for the next morning's walk. The mushrooms in the "full English" breakfast were also the best on the whole trip. I would love to stay again, and recommend it to everyone!

Broomshaw Hill Farm replied: Thank you so much Katherine for your great positive review: we are delighted you enjoyed your brief stay with us as part of your Contours walking tour and so pleased that the mushrooms were particularly satisfying! Wet travellers are an occupational challenge and we are pleased we were able to set you off on your way dry of foot and restored as well as having enjoyed your night with us. We hope you have some great memories of your summer trip and enjoyed your time in Glasgow with Audrey's friends. Best wishes, Anne and Martin

Great Hospitality near a Scenic Spot along Hadrian's Wall

We stayed two nights at the Broomshaw Hill Farm to visit Hadrian’s Wall. Anne and Martin were the greatest hosts, with excellent tips for pubs/restaurants and sightseeing on our journey. They offered great maps and resources to help us find our way around. Cook-to-order English breakfasts with all the trimmings were presented each morning. The room was great, quiet, and comfortable, with a nice spacious en suite bathroom. It is located a short drive from a very scenic section of Hadrian’s Wall with easy access to Sycamore Gap and the very interesting Vindolanda Roman Fort museum and archeological site. The immediate area is very nice too with a scenic river and trails to explore. The only shortcoming was weak wifi in our room—the Aesica (we’re addicted to electronics). Wifi was great at the other end of the hall and in common areas. Still FIVE BIG STARS for Broomshaw Hill Farm! It was the nicest, most hospitable place we stayed on a journey with eight overnight stops.

Broomshaw Hill Farm replied: Thank you Greg and Priscilla for taking the time to write such a detailed and complimentary review which will be a great guide for prospective visitors to this fabulously varied area. We really appreciate your lovely and specific comments about Broomshaw and what we try to provide for our visitors and, yes, the wifi can be accessed most of the time though our valley position does pose a challenge occasionally: we're glad you weren't denied your electronics completely. You were such good company and we really enjoyed meeting you and hearing about your trip both on your last stop before Edinburgh and home. Thanks again for choosing Broomshaw and all the best, Anne and Martin

A home from home

Rebecca O,
This was one of the nicest places I stayed during my walk along the Hadrian's Wall trail. The tea and homemade cake added to the warm welcome I received from Anne and Martin after a long day of walking. This was followed by a delicious dinner and friendly chat. The room was beautiful and comfortable, with everything you could possibly need. Anne made a very generous packed lunch for me the next day too, which was so appreciated. The breakfast was delicious - scrambled eggs and salmon on toast for me - and set me up for another long day of walking. I would recommend this B&B to anyone visiting the area.

Broomshaw Hill Farm replied: Thank you Rebecca. You were covering such impressive distances, that we were very pleased to offer you a comfortable and peaceful night to recharge your batteries. Hopefully you enjoyed the rest of your Hadrian's Wall walking challenge and have some great memories of this spectacular stretch. Enjoy the rest of the summer before term begins again and thank you for your lovely comments about your stay at Broomshaw. Best wishes, Anne and Martin
