Perfect Getaway!

Ryan C,
I was a single traveller, and I had a fantastic time. Hosts were most kind & gracious. Room was spacious, clean, and peaceful. Nothing short of perfection. I would absolutely recommend anyone to go to this hidden gem.

Broomshaw Hill Farm replied: Ryan, we were delighted to meet you and be able to help you enjoy your days in this lovely area. You made great use of your time and seemed to fit in so much before heading off to Newcastle and watching some football. We really appreciate your generous and thoughtful comments which will encourage other readers who might be looking for a quiet, picturesque spot. Hope that your job is going well and that your MA studies get off to a good start too. All the best, Anne and Martin

Lovely stay

Ivanboven,
We had a wonderful stay at this gorgeous b&b. Anne and Martin made us feel right at home and were genuinely interested in our stories. The room was Lovely and breakfast to die for. The small personal touches like homemade bread and all the most friendly advices regarding walks and places to go, made this place a true and rare gem!

Broomshaw Hill Farm replied: Ina, thank you: it was great to meet you all and to see you enjoying your last few days before catching the ferry home. Your time in Scotland sounded like a great experience so we were glad to add to your happy memories of your trip and hope you enjoyed Hexham and the other places we thought might suit you on your way to Newcastle. Thank you for your lovely comments about your stay and for choosing to stay with us. Hope the school term has started smoothly and that you enjoy the rest of the summer. Best wishes, Anne and Martin

Another lovely stay

aps100, Derby, United Kingdom
Just back from another lovely stay with Anne and Martin. Great hosts, well looked after and if my wife thinks it's going to be smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast every day now we're home she better think again!! We won't leave it so long before coming to stay again, promise.

Broomshaw Hill Farm replied: Thanks Adrian for coming back to stay with us. It was great to see you again and thanks for bringing Clare too who we were so pleased to meet. We were delighted you enjoyed the new room and especially pleased that Clare enjoyed the smoked salmon and eggs which are a real favourite with visitors. We hope you enjoyed your walking and Allen Banks. Looking forward to seeing you again, maybe with your bikes. All the best, Anne and Martin

Excellent bed and breakfast near the popular Hadrian's Wall walk

Katherine S, Rochester, New York
The location and rooms were lovely, with a full bathroom and in-suite tea and biscuits and wifi, but what really set this B&B apart was how friendly and helpful the hosts were. The hosts picked us up from the Hadrian's Wall exit in Haltwhistle, and after a long day in the rain, we were wet, tired, and late. The hosts patiently waited for us till after the agreed on pickup, took us back, and even managed to get my sodden boots dry for the next morning's walk. The mushrooms in the "full English" breakfast were also the best on the whole trip. I would love to stay again, and recommend it to everyone!

Broomshaw Hill Farm replied: Thank you so much Katherine for your great positive review: we are delighted you enjoyed your brief stay with us as part of your Contours walking tour and so pleased that the mushrooms were particularly satisfying! Wet travellers are an occupational challenge and we are pleased we were able to set you off on your way dry of foot and restored as well as having enjoyed your night with us. We hope you have some great memories of your summer trip and enjoyed your time in Glasgow with Audrey's friends. Best wishes, Anne and Martin

Great Hospitality near a Scenic Spot along Hadrian's Wall

Traveling5440,
We stayed two nights at the Broomshaw Hill Farm to visit Hadrian’s Wall. Anne and Martin were the greatest hosts, with excellent tips for pubs/restaurants and sightseeing on our journey. They offered great maps and resources to help us find our way around. Cook-to-order English breakfasts with all the trimmings were presented each morning. The room was great, quiet, and comfortable, with a nice spacious en suite bathroom. It is located a short drive from a very scenic section of Hadrian’s Wall with easy access to Sycamore Gap and the very interesting Vindolanda Roman Fort museum and archeological site. The immediate area is very nice too with a scenic river and trails to explore. The only shortcoming was weak wifi in our room—the Aesica (we’re addicted to electronics). Wifi was great at the other end of the hall and in common areas. Still FIVE BIG STARS for Broomshaw Hill Farm! It was the nicest, most hospitable place we stayed on a journey with eight overnight stops.

Broomshaw Hill Farm replied: Thank you Greg and Priscilla for taking the time to write such a detailed and complimentary review which will be a great guide for prospective visitors to this fabulously varied area. We really appreciate your lovely and specific comments about Broomshaw and what we try to provide for our visitors and, yes, the wifi can be accessed most of the time though our valley position does pose a challenge occasionally: we're glad you weren't denied your electronics completely. You were such good company and we really enjoyed meeting you and hearing about your trip both on your last stop before Edinburgh and home. Thanks again for choosing Broomshaw and all the best, Anne and Martin
