Staying here was a fantastic decision!

BluesNites, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom
We stayed for three nights so we could walk some of Hadrian's Wall and what a brilliant time we had. Denise has created a perfect haven for walkers with everything you could possibly need! From the delicious home cooked food, thoughtful and very welcome packed lunches and even a lift to and from our walk - our lives could not have been made easier. I really cannot recommend this place highly enough - but you might have trouble getting booked in as I intend to take everybody I know there!

Brookside Villa B&B replied: Thanks so much for your time in reviewing us. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us, and would be even more delighted to welcome you back! Thanks, Denise, Gerry and the Team (who thought you guys were wonderful too!)

Hadrian's Wall stop off with the hound

jamestrehane,
Fiancée, dog and I had a great stay here, having walked from Chollerford along the wall. Upon arrival we got a warm greeting, and sympathy for having walked so far in the rain, Denise even arranged for Gerry to drive us to the pub to rest our feet! The packed lunch service was really handy too, but if you book through a third party website you may not notice that they cook dinner (which smelt amazing) which requires advance booking. Do stay here if you are walking along the wall, it is an extra 800m to get to from the village centre but being dog friendly is a great bonus.

Brookside Villa B&B replied: Thanks for your time in posting feedback for us. Delighted you enjoyed your stay - and I seem to recall that you were well recovered the next morning to carry on to Carlisle! (and that your little dog was not that impressed with the idea!). thanks again, Denise, Gerry and the Team

Beside the brook beside the wall

roleb5856, Portsmouth, United Kingdom
We stayed here for two nights at the end of our walking adventure. Denise was very attentive, informative and always happy to give information when requested. Rooms were compact but had everything required including a wonderfully strong hot shower ( welcome at the end of a days walking). Breakfast was good and plentiful but I couldn't understand why we had to make a choice of juice the night before! We had dinner there on our last night. Prices are comparable with the local pub but without more walking to get there. Food was delicious ( Fish pie was yummy). My only criticism was that a little more attention could be paid to the dusting of frames / shelves in the rooms. This wasn't just one day of dusting missed. All said Denise does a great job and her and Gerry should be proud of their oasis in the Wall.

Brookside Villa B&B replied: Thanks so much for providing us with your feedback, and we are delighted you enjoyed your stay. We do ask for pre-order for breakfast (as do most of our colleagues along the Trail) as it helps us serve everyone quickly and efficiently so you can all get on with your day's activities - juices are just one item on the order form - you don't HAVE to pre-order, but it helps us get your drinks tray set up whilst you're still (hopefully) sleeping peacefully! Dust on the picture frames? Ooops, sorry about that, wish you'd told me when you were here and we could have rectified that in 2 minutes. Note to self and staff:- Reach higher! Thanks again, Denise, Gerry and the VERY SHORT, but perfectly-formed Team.

Superb!

16alice, Zurich, Switzerland
Quiet, clean gorgeous B&B on Route 72 cycleway, lovely hosts with a wealth of local knowedge, nothing was too much trouble incuding dropping us off for dinner as we were so late arriving. Best sleep of the whole trip. would love to come back and spend more time here. (ps you were right, throughly enjoyed Day 2!)

Brookside Villa B&B replied: Thank you, and we loved having your family to stay - and delighted we were able to give you information about your Day 2 ride - yes, it is magnificent! Love to see you all again, Denise, Gerry and the Team

Very good

Helen M, Maitland, Australia
A most accomodating hostess, great sized and well appointed room, comfortable lounge and great food. After a days walk, it was lovely to relax at Brookside - Denise couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Dinner was great and a good range of choices for packed lunches.

Brookside Villa B&B replied: Thank you, Helen, for taking the time to post a review for us. We aim to provide a warm and relaxing atmosphere, and delighted that we achieved that for you. Please you enjoyed our food too! Denise, Gerry and the Team
