A real warm welcome

sundaygirl2014, Morpeth, United Kingdom
We were walking the Northumberland Coastal Path (Cresswell to Berwick) during March 2017 and reached the Bothy Bar at Beal, where Fred came to pick us up in his car, to save our weary feet, as it was getting dark. The accommodation was fab with an en-suite bedroom and the beds so comfy we were asleep as soon as heads hit the pillow. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully served at the huge farmhouse table, with other guests, and we shared stories & adventures. All in all a real homely, comfortable, welcoming place ~ where I would come again to relax & get spoilt.

A lovely stay in a luxury B&B

Cath F, Hexham, United Kingdom
We stayed here on the fourth leg of our St Cuthbert's Way walk. It's a bit off the Way by a couple of miles but as we decided to walk down to Holy Island causeway rather than stop off at Fenwick for the night it was only another mile or so up the road. The farm is also a certified caravan and camping site but it's separate from the guest house so there's no impact. This is a four star guest house and it shows - the bedroom we were in was massive with a huge king-sized bed, a sofa to seat two, coffee table, dressing table, enormous wardrobe, TV, and even a washbasin. We had our own enormous private bathroom too with loads of towels and toiletries. It was all quite luxurious. Breakfast was served in the main dining room around one large table which we shared with two other couples and it was great to share news and adventures, the choice of breakfast is wonderful and there's even smoked salmon on the menu if you so desire. A great friendly place with loads of luxury at a very reasonable price. If you want to feel spoiled this is a great place to be.

Excellent traditional farmhouse B&B

Leonie L, Cornwall
We stayed in 2 different rooms on 2 separate occasions, both were large and extremely comfortable. The B&B is spotlessly clean and very welcoming. We were cycling the Coast and Castles route and were offered a safe place for our bikes overnight. The breakfasts were traditional full cooked breakfasts, beautifully cooked to order. There's a great place to eat within walking distance which has splendid views across to Holy Island. This is a lovely, quiet, warm and friendly farmhouse B&B and we'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Dissapointed

Janet R, Chorley, United Kingdom
Booked 2 nites with our 2 berth caravan to visit holy island etc but were shocked and disappointed to find the 5 hookup caravan bays were in a small farm yard with no views and very old toilets in a shed, all the other vans were on top of each other with no privercy at all ,very closterfobic, sorry to say we left to find another wonderful site further up. Lady was very nice but not the site we expected for us .

Brock Mill Farmhouse replied: We would like to thank Janet for her comments, which unfortunately do not paint a true picture of the site. The site is inspected by by the Caravan Club, and the position and spacing of the sites were agreed by them. While we agree that there is not a view, we find that most people like to get out of their caravan and see the beautifull views in the near area. There is a hedge which protects the site from possible East winds. Above all the site is kept clean, the grass is cut and collected and the toilets (which are not in a shed !!) are also clean. Whilst we appreciate the site might not have been to her liking we do have many people who return again and again for stays of much longer than 2 nights.
