The Beach House is family run and is praised for its relaxed "home from home" atmosphere, which the owners, Malcolm and Hazel, have striven to create. In its idyllic location, the Beach House is set back about 60metres from one of the most beautiful stretches of heritage coastline that Northumberland has to offer. The golden sands stretch to the neighbouring village of Bamburgh and beyond, where one of the most magnificent castles in England can be explored.

The Beach House has proved over the years to be the place to stay if you love walking. bird watching, photography etc, the list is endless, or just a place to relax and enjoy the magnificent scenery which begins at the Beach House and continues in every direction for miles upon miles of unspoilt coast line and countryside which must be one of the best if not THE best in England.

The lounge, dining room and bar have panoramic views of the Farne Islands, situated 3 miles out to sea. The Farnes are now a nature reserve, home to a large seal colony and many different species of seabirds including puffins, cormorants and oyster catchers. However they will always be famous for their historic past, once being a sanctuary for St Cuthbert, and more recently for the heroic efforts of Grace Darling in her bid to save the survivors from the Forfarshire steamship. With boat trips available from the local harbour hundreds of visitors return year after year to enjoy the many delights to which this group of no fewer than 28 islands have to offer.

Evening meal is offered to groups, the disabled and the elderly who are unable to walk the 5mins into the village centre where there is a good choice of Restaurants.

A file containing the menus of these Restaurants is available in the Beach House Lobby.

Our staff are very approachable and will see to all your needs, making your stay relaxing & enjoyable.

Enjoy the freedom and space this County has to offer and leave all those worries and stresses behind. Simple.

Single rooms and attitude of Malcolm

Manjit O, Stafford, England, United Kingdom
6 of us booked at the hotel and 2 were allocated so called single rooms! I would suggest not taking your cat with you as there is no room to swing it. Room had no window but the best surprise was the shower cubicle. You had to wrap your arms around yourself to get in and I am not a big person! Gave a new experience to showering. When asked to change rooms I was asked to speak to Malcolm. He was the most rude man I have had the misfortune to meet and was not interested in the feedback! "There is nothing wrong with the room" was his answer. Left me dumbfounded as to how this rude man survives in this industry!! As we were only staying for two nights I decided to bite my lip and let it go! I have to add that all other members of staff were curtious and polite and made us feel very comfortable. I am glad they didn't follow the master's manners. Not an experience to be repeated.

Great location great breakfast

My wife and I along with two of our grandchildren stayed at The Beach House hotel, over the weekend, we were warmly greeted and were allocated room10 which disappointingly was at the rear of the premises, so we lost out on the great view of the Farne Islands, the room was comfortable and plenty large enough for us, with a decent sized bathroom. Critism of the room, relate to little things, there were only two cups for four people and not enough tea bags or coffee but quickly sorted by Malcolm the owner, the beds were large but not particularly comfortable, and the shower head was not very good, but other than that the room was fine. The breakfast in the morning was excellent and set you up for the day. Thanks for a great weekend. We will stay here again, but hopefully get a room that looks out onto the beach and the islands.

Lovely view, tiny room

We stayed two nights here. Very good position a few minutes walk from main town area so quiet. Staff friendly, breakfast fine. Room clean but really small, about 15 inches between window and bed, same at bottom of bed and wall, no chairs, just room to put case on floor by bathroom. Good weather meant we had to spend very little time in room which was probably good!

Disgusting staff member!!

Jennifer T,
Unfortunately my family and I stayed here a few days ago and I have to say the way a member of staff spoke in front of my children was disgusting. She was called Kerry/Kerrie as I overheard her name in conversation between another member of staff, and she was part of the cleaning staff as she was doing the rooms. Her language was disgusting as was her behaviour. She was swearing all over the place in front of our young children who ended up repeating some of the language later on!! Definitely not a safe space for young kids! Her behaviour was absolutely appalling and she was clearly drunk with the way she was acting it was quite obvious and shameful. Definitely would never recommend anyone to come here due to her horrid behaviour and language definitely not a good image for this hotel and definitely not a place for children.

Friendly, efficient and great value for money

Robert W,
Malcolm runs a great hotel on the coast road just a short walk up from the harbour where boats regularly cross to the bird sanctuary on the Farne Islands. He offers a range of rooms and terrific breakfasts. I had a single room without a view which was compact but well designed and with everything clean, fresh and working properly. Since I was out bird watching most of the time, it was perfect and good value. Malcolm's team is friendly and helpful, especially Jenny the receptionist. Wifi worked and there is a comfortable lounge with TV where I was invited to sit and relax even after checking out.
