Wonderfully comfortable self catering cottages and farm B&B

alanne2, Bristol
Unable to stay in the self catering cottage for longer than we hoped (because it was already prebooked) we were rewarded with the double bonus of finishing our holiday in the farm B&B, Both cottage and B&B were to excellent standards - and the full Northumbrian breakfast should not be missed.

Apple tree cottage......absolutely delightful

TaH14, Manchester, United Kingdom
We stayed at Apple Tree cottage on the recommendation of friends who had enjoyed staying in the beautiful farmhouse which provides excellent bed and breakfast, with fantastic views, delightful rooms and a wonderful welcome from Laura. The cottage was beautifully appointed, 3 excellent sized bedrooms , bathroom with shower and bath. Very well equipped dining kitchen, spacious and comfortable lounge with a log burning fire. It certainly was very cosy, comfortable, homely and immaculately clean and lovingly cared for by the owners. Alndyke farm B&B and the holiday cottages are very well located , just outside of Alnwick and so easy to visit so many places in the area with the added advantage of being in the countryside and so lovely to enjoy the peace and quiet. Already planning to return later in the year. Thankyou Laura for such a warm welcome and fantastic accommodation.

Lived up to its reviews on Tripadvisor

We stayed for 2 nights as a base for visiting castles and gardens in wonderful Northumberland again. Our original intention was to stay in a B&B nearby where we had stayed before. However it was fully booked. Alndyke Farm B&B thankfully had availability. Laura's initial greeting immediately made us feel welcome. Our en suite room was perfect for our needs with a lovely view over farmland. It was extremely quiet. Breakfast lived up to all the superlatives previous guests had used. Two particularly difficult things to get right in B&Bs are mushrooms and poached eggs but not for Laura. The cafetière was good, strong and plentiful. Quality throughout with very good service. The location is excellent. So close to Alnwick for its facilities yet rural. Alnwick itself is ideally placed for accessing the highlights of east Northumberland.

Our third visit and as good as ever

We recently spent 4 nights here with our friends. This was our third visit to Alndyke and it has lost none of its charm. Laura cooks up amazing breakfasts and is a very welcoming hostess. Our room was very comfortable with everything to hand we needed including dressing gowns. Bed was very comfy and there was a lovely big shower and Oh Joy hot towels in the morning to wrap around us when we got out of the shower. Our friends were also suitably impressed and very pleased with their rooms, especially room 5 with the king size bed. The views out the back are beautiful and it is very peaceful as the house is set away from the road. We hope to return in the not too distant future and hopefully won't leave it so long next time.

A fantastic stay.

Phil S,
Warm, friendly welcoming staff. Lovely, spacious rooms with high ceilings. Lovely and quiet but not too far from local amenities. Great views of the countryside. Fantastic breakfasts and tea making facilities in room. Already planning our next stay. Local for Alnmouth and the whole of the Northumbria coastal route. Alnwick Castle and Bambourgh Castle defiantly worth visiting.
